Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Quality Not There - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By asd - July 3 - 10:00 amBought this vehicle with 14k. At 20k, yup, brakes. Dealer did replace them at no cost and brakes have been ok. Door locks broke twice, leaks, weather stripping unglued, bushings, door panel loose, leather seat ripping, vinyl tear, and now rust on upper corner of windshield where roof meets the molding. Ive seen this problem on 2000 models. Newer models have longer moldings. Also putting up with some rattles. I bought the Jeep because I think it has great looks and it does handle really well in the snow/offroad. Power is great with the V8. Though the dealer has been good, I dont want to spend my free time at the dealership. So far not impressed with Jeep.

Very Good Truck for your Buck - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By BuyAmerican - July 3 - 10:00 amWeve had our Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 2 weeks. It has a wonderful, spacious interior for passengers and cargo, with a decent fit and finish. The truck gets good gas mileage...for an SUV. Otherwise, the gas mileage isnt as impressive. The engine is so reliable, my friend who used to work at a Ford dealer with me called it bullet- proof. I may not of had it long, but friends and family have some, and they love theirs. Better than a Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, because the way I see it, theyd rust out before Ive gotten my moneys worth!! Not to mention, their reliability IS NOTHING SPECIAL, MAYBE EVEN BELOW AVERAGE.

By slhbanks - July 2 - 11:40 amI recently bought my Jeep at the beginning of 2006 and what can I say about it besides it is unstoppable! Theres nothing this Jeep hasnt seen and been through that Im sure that other SUVs couldnt have gone through. This is the best vehicle I have ever owned and I would buy another if I see another in the near future that I want.

Heat, defrost, ac wont work - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By soldiersgirlcal - July 1 - 10:00 amThis is a driving hazard, should be a recall, as I am having to take our vehicle to the dealer to get fixed, from what I hear is expensive. Have heard this model Jeep, from reviews seems to have a blender prob. Not good, as I have a child, no defrost, heat, ac. Ugh!

I love mine - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By JohnDoe10882 - June 29 - 3:43 pmI love my Jeep. Its fun to drive, comfortable (and Im 63" 250 pounds). It has all the right options, and I LOVE being able to use E-85 in it. I havent had anything go wrong with it, and there was only 1 service recall issue, new antilock brake firmware. Its reasonably good on gas, not Honda levels, but I didnt expect that from it. Its large enough to haul the items I frequently need to haul, without being too big when not hauling things. Its easy to drive and will climb almost anything. I havent found deep enough snow yet to stop it and the stability control system is superb.

Love it! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By heidik - June 27 - 2:00 amThis vehicle FIT me, the minute I slid behind the wheel. Everything was within reach, and the steering wheel did not have to be in my lap in order to reach the pedals. I have had no trouble at all with my Jeep. She has performed like a champ, in all kinds of weather and conditions. The only time she has ever been into the dealership is for routine maintenance. I know Jeeps do not have a great reputation for quality, but mine has been superb!

Great SUV - Not liking the Stop/Start function - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Sheryl - June 25 - 9:18 pmI recently leased two Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredos, one 2015 that I loved so much that I also leased a 2016 to replace our second car. I had leather seats placed in both which are much more comfortable than the cloth seats. Both the 2015 and 2016 are identical with the exception of the gear shift and the stop/start functionality, and back up camera on the 2016 model. I previously owned at 2000 Grand Cherokee and was pleased to see that these models are larger, steadier and roomier than the one I had before. The ride is very smooth. Cant say enough about how happy I am with this vehicle. I am likely to buy this out at the end of the lease if I remain this satisfied. I gave teh Grand Cherokee an overall score of 4 based on the start/stop function. I really hate this function, especially in the stop and go traffic here in Florida. It starts as soon as I take my foot off of the brake but with that, it still takes a second for it to start and take off. Overall when running, the V6 engine has sufficient pickup for me. I also felt that the led lights should be standard on all models of Grand Cherokee at this price base.

Gas hog - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeff - June 23 - 3:36 amI recently purchased a 244,000 mile 1995 Jeep GC. I have owned 7 jeeps prior to this one. It is a great running jeep even with the mileage. I purchased it as a back up vehicle but find myself driving it instead of my Nissan even with gas mileage as bad as it is. I had to replace the transfer case recently but was able to find one at a junkyard for 120 dollars. The Jeep is extremely easy to work on. I definitely recommend the GC experience.
