Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

I love my car - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By RuthAnne - August 8 - 2:00 amI love my Jeep. This is my second one. I use it to haul lots of furniture and antiques for my business as well as a family car. It is very comfortable for us to all be in at the same time. I love it.

Beware - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By John B - August 8 - 12:00 amI bought this vehicle used with 36,000 miles on it and 45,000 miles later, i am proud to say i am FINALLY getting RID of this car. The AC went twice, the parking brake randomly fell out and for some reason I just went through tires (found out that wheel barring was bent somehow). MPG is awful, the lining around the moonroof fell out constantly, heated seats broke twice, and the side paneling of the door started to fall out. I loved the vehicle at first, but I am truly not sad to see it go this week!

Great Car (truck) - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Medrigal 32 - August 7 - 4:36 pmVehicle has 139,000 highway miles and running well. Great car, comfortable on trips, mileage 19 @ 75 mph, 22.5 @ 62 with 4.7 V-8. Engine is bulletproof. Regular service and no repair except for drivers window assemble breaking twice (expensive to repair, and engine computer just recently ($700.00). I just bought a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee because of my excellent experience with this one.

Dont buy a Grand Cherokee - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By paul171 - August 7 - 10:00 amI had more problems with that Jeep than any other vehicle I have ever owned. The transmission dropped within the first year along with many other small problems. I am also disappointed at the resale value of the Grand Cherokee. The manufacturer has taken steps to increase their sales while decreasing the resale value. Since I purchased my Jeep, Chrysler has offered a 7/70 power train warranty which I needed on my Jeep and creating options packages that offer more equipment and features for a lot less. I have been very disappointed and I finally traded the Jeep in last week. I am glad to be rid of it.

Jeeps are the greatest vehicles on earth - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By geer - August 4 - 1:10 pmI think the Grand Cherokee is great. I can do maintenance on it easy. I dont do all that off roading type stuff. But I did put a hitch and a roof rack on my Jeep. I also drove it across the country many times. The spare tire is a real tire with the same rim. The only draw back from this ride is that the miles per gallon is a little low. But what do you expect from a SUV. To be able to change it for trips as far as seating and loading items is also a plus. Buy Jeep always!

Not all its hyped up to be...JGC 2012 5.7L Overland 4x4 - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jreworld - August 3 - 1:10 amIve had my JGC over 2.5 years, and although I enjoy the vehicle most of the time, I cannot recommend it due to its numerous issues. The front sway bar bushings wore out last month. How is this possible on a relatively new vehicle? This weekend my check engine light came on again and the MDS is not working. I had this happen two years ago, and the end result was a bad cylinder valve that left me without a car for several weeks. If its the same issue again, Im done. Going foreign again. Ive had more issues with this car than my last 10 vehicles combined. I wanted so much for Jeep to succeed, but even if you put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig. Buyer beware.
