Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • Everything but adjustable brake pedals - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

We have taken it on 2 long trips and its a fine car except it requires premium fuel and the economy is less than expected. It was picked up with a slight miss and it still does but worse when hot. The GPS has a lot of nice features and someday it will navigate using more roads so that direct routes can be used rather than just major roads. It is not as good as a hand held portable GPS for routing. It handles surprisingly well at high speeds and if you need some power its there when you need it. Its fast.

Like that it can be rugged or classy. It is a great car to take into the fields and 4 wheeling. I have had no problems and am planning on staying with Jeep in the future.

I am fully satisfied with all aspect of my Grand Cherokee, 2004. It is my third Jeep purchase. I am pleased with the 18 mpg average around town in the first months ownership. Am also looking forward to driving in the ice and snow to gage its performanceO

  • Great Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This Jeep is different from others I have driven. Its fast, strong, luxurious and RELIABLE. There are great technical features like controllable rain-sensing wipers, helpful computer related features, and a fantastic drive system. That drive system not only makes this Jeep incredibly secure in bad weather but gives it sports-car cornering and handling. Its never been in for any unscheduled service but it does often visit the gas pump. I love this vehicle.

  • Jeeps are really nice - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Land Rover, mbenz, Subaru outback are my other vehicles. I love this my first Jeep. I cant even believe the quality and engineering of the suspension and drive train. The ride is tight but comfortable. I would trade anything I have owned or driven for this vehicle. Jeep dont not get the credit it deserves.

Gotta love the Hemi! Hard to stay off the gas. Nav system amazingly accurate and useful, but not intuitive to use. Fully equipped Limited has so many bells and whistles, quality time with manuals is required to set/operate. Also own 99 BMW540i 6-speed and 87 Porsche 944S 5-speed and will usually choose the Grand Cherokee for most drives; really defines "sport/utility" and something of a "stealth" vehicle in the black crystal pearl color. Could almost be called "poor mans" Porsche Cayenne, but is a much more attractive SUV!

  • We love it! - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My wife drove Towncars. We considered every 4dr sedan that caught our eye priced under $31,000. Wanted comfort, styling and performance. We were about to give up, when at a dealership I opened the door to a Grand Cherokee and asked my wife to get behind the wheel. She sat down in the most comfortable seat since her Towncar! Surprised the heck out of her! We then took it for a long test drive and we fell in love with it. The dealership also had a magazine with testimonials of owners with 2 and 300,000 miles on their Jeeps. That night, we bought a loaded 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD V-8!

I have nothing but great things to say about this vehicle. Its reliability and ride are just like a car to us. I am a salesman and this vehicle is perfect for me. This is our second Jeep and our first Limited and I would buy a third Jeep in a New York minute.

  • Most bang for the buck! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I researched many mid-size SUVs before buying the Grand Cherokee. For the money you cant beat the Jeep Grand Cherokee. I got a $4000 rebate on top of a really sweet deal. I drove the Explorer, Trailblazer, Murano; none of them had the comfort or ride quality of the Jeep. Of all the Grand Cherokee models, I think the the Special Edition is a great choice. It has the great looks of the Limited (including leather) without all the bells and whistles. Plus it costs about $3000 less than the Limited. If you are thinking of an Explorer, Trailblazer, Highlander, etc; do yourself a favor and look at the Jeep!
