Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • Expensive to own - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Bought this car new. Is beautiful, drives great, has great power. Regarding the car, the heat/cool dampers went out at 38K and it cost $ 800.00. A couple of engine sensors failed (while on vacation) at a cost of $ 600.00. Now it is in the shop due to rust-through on the rear wheel wells. No more Dodge/Chrysler/Jeeps for us.

This is our second JGC, and we are not pleased with it. We had to take it back to the dealer 3 times for computer errors (had to replace main PC board), the AC does not work all the time, and the engine is so detuned that it feels like a strong V6. In addition, I hit my head all the time when getting in and out (you would think I would have learned)and I am only 57". I could not imagine a tall person enjoying this vehicle.

  • a very reliable vehicle - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I purchased my jeep used with about 40k miles and it now has 95k miles on it and it still runs great. only problems ive had were with catalyc conv. and AC other than that this is a very reliable suv. 4wd handles great and regular upkeep should keep it running in good condition for many years to come. interior is roomy and comfortable. overall a good vehicle.

I bought this car because of its large size and high ride. I was not disapointed! Over the past 3 years Ive had a lot of fun with this car, and its saved me tons of money in UHAUL trailers because of its large cargo capacity. Occasionally I would use the 4 wheel drive for snow and ice, and it worked well for that. The only real problem Ive had with it was the fuel pump. I had it changed out twice. The A/C would also give me problems from time to time. I think it has a small leak. Otherwise, its been well worth the money.

  • JEEP - Wrote the book on 4WD - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

After looking at several other SUVs I again went back to the Jeep. Nothing like it for the money. Great style, great comfort and fun to drive. Rugged eough to go off road whenevr you want. This is my 5th Jeep. Just traded in a 99 Cherokee with 100K miles.Never did anything to the engine. Routine service really does work. Even though I look at the others, there is still only one- JEEP

  • Good - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

All in all this car was very nicely finished. My only complaint would be the steering wheel, which looks kinda awkward. Besides that this car is ideal.

  • Im done with it - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This vehicle spends more time in the shop than it does on the road. I think they have a sensor that goes off at 37K miles that permits every functional system to go wrong with the car. I have spent $2500 in the past 16 months (given - tires & brakes were $900 of it) and I have little confidence that the end is near. This is the second Jeep I have owned & I have no idea why I was so stupid to buy another one. From here on out, I will only buy Toyota or Honda vehicles. American cars are just not worth the headache.

  • Great SUV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The fit and finish of this Jeep is remarkable. I thought I would not spend this type of money on a Jeep but this Jeep was worth it! I never thought that a Jeep could ride like a luxury car. Power delivery is so smooth that you must keep an eye on the speedometer in order to stay within the speed limit. If I had the extra funds, I would buy a second one.

  • My Crown Jewel! - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I cant say enough good things about this jeep. I have a fully loaded with 5.7L Hemi. Black with a factory upgraded chrome rim. I truly feel this product rivals anything from the luxury brands. I bought it used with 36k miles for $25k. Now it has 65k. I replaced the battery thats it. My payment is $368 a month and people act like im rich to be driving it. My wife drives it more than I and gets way too much attention. It turns heads everywhere we go, but im blown away by the interior cabin comfort and feel and how it handles. its like a sports car. My wife and I agree we are going to pay it off and keep it until I give it to my nephew. He is only 8 now so I will have it a while.
