Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • My overland. - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I drive a 2011 Overland loaded! I used to be so proud of my Jeep and would brag about it to everyone. Not anymore! So far the truck has been back to the dealer five timesÂ… thank god not for mechanical failures (so far) but for cosmetic reason. After owning several Jeeps, I wanted some luxury, style and of course towing capacity. So after looking into the X5, Lexus 350 and the ExpeditionÂ…I chose my Overland, boy do I regret my decision!!! The overland is fun to drive, slick looking and just all around FUN. The problem is how the inside of the Jeep was done and how bad the materials used inside are wearing down in such a small period of time. The dash board had to be replaced because th

Although I have had no problems so far with my 2004 jeep, I have concerns in reference to the bad reviews on the Jeep Transmission. My 2004 makes a humming noise when the drive is in reverse and also makes a ticking like noise when putting the vehicle into drive from park. Overall the ride is very smooth and nice pickup.

  • Jeeps Junk - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I purchased this Jeep in California with 50,000 miles on it. Within the first six months it needed a new water pump, new exhaust manifold, new tires, etc, etc. Since buying this in 1999 I have had the transmission replaced 3 times! I am not a off roader or speed demon. I am a run of the mill guy who believes that purchasing this vehicle is a complete waste of money. WHEN ITS RUNNING, IT HAS A SMOOTH QUIET RIDE that anyone will enjoy. The two wheel drive model is useless in any type of snow or ice.

  • New 06 Grand Cherokee - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

06 model needs a tighter fit and finish on interior materials and the V6 model needs more horsepower. I have found a few rattles that are hard to stop on the inside. Ride is nice, stereo system sounds great, and leather seats are durable over period of time unlike leathers in other brands. My V6 model gets excellent MPG for an SUV (19 - 20 mixed driving and 22 - 24 highway driving). Overall, nice mid-sized SUV.

  • Great SUV - (In its time) - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Overall, I have to admit I love this truck. Its very, very quick (especially with a few cheap bolt-ons), rides decent, and has more off-road ability than 99% of the drivers would ever need. My main complaint: build quality and reliability. My poor Jeep has spent more time in the shop than I care to add up. I would have gladly paid a couple more thousand for it if Jeep had put a little more effort into quality control.

  • I love my Grand Cherokee Summit - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I love my 2015 GC Summit. The navigation system could be much better resolution wise. Maps are dangerously outdated. On the other hand, this vehicle is a joy to drive and looks fantastic. No reliability issues whatsoever.

  • Jeeps got to love them - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

This is the most powerful Jeep I have owned to date. I have owned a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country also. I still own the 95 as an extra car. It is pushing 99,000 miles and is still in mint condition. The 99 Jeep shows great improvement over previous models. Plus it is so much faster and more powerful then also all the other SUVs I have driven(excluding the BMW X5 4.4i and 4.6i).

  • Bad 2 the Bone Grand Cherokee - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I have owned my 94 Grand cherokee for almost a year now. I love it. It has the power , Ride comfort , and style. I have babied this car since day one i got it. My jeep has a 4" lift and 31" tires. So a offroader jeep. This is my 1st car. The only work i have had 2 do on this car is undoing the last owners mistakes, Such as putting the proper size shocks on. A actual transmission pan gasket, ( Not masking tap) and putting bolts through the front Brake caliber. I love this car. The power is amazing, The original paint is in amazing condition. The pillow top leather seats are very comfy. Parts are cheap 2 by. Build quality it good. Reliability is great. Jeeps are good. Will by another one 4 sure
