Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk - 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By koenigsegg_fan - December 20 - 6:37 pmThe JGC Trailhawk is a limited edition Laredo with exclusive features. It does have the 5.7 HEMI. There isnt anything that makes it drive differently than a regular Grand Cherokee. We found this rare Jeep on the dealer lot for $8000 off. What a deal! It has a really smooth ride from the air suspension. With rugged off-road tires, it still has a really quiet, smooth ride. The seats are big, but firm. However, theyre really comfortable. Its cargo space is good for luggage even with the seats up. The interior is well-put together with high quality materials, and many are soft to the touch. We had 0 problems with the electronics, the engine, and the air suspension. We had it for 9 months.

Transmission terminator - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeeps rule - December 20 - 2:00 amThis Grand cherokee is a great truck when it is running, I have had my transmission rebuilt twice under warranty and replaced once, I have had this vehicle back from the dealership for about 10 months and my transmission is going out AGAIN, not to mention that my front end when in 4 wheel drive sounds like It has metal binding when I turn my steering wheel. I bought the extended warranty (thankfully) and will be taking it back in to have it fixed even though the dealership always tries to give it back saying there is nothing wrong with it but in the end they see it my way and start fixing things.

Transmission - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Ronald1522 - December 19 - 7:53 pmI really like my Jeep. It is roomy and a good solid ride. The only problem that I have is when shifting from reverse to drive it takes about 2 seconds for the transmission to engage. If you forget to wait the motor races and it slams into gear.

Still running great - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jim in alabama - December 14 - 12:50 pmComing up on 2 year of ownership and still no problems. Normal mx and just replaced tires. Never added a drop of fluids between changes. I change my oil every 5000 miles and my Cherokee still runs like a top. Jeep did good when they built this one. Leather is still in great shape. All the bells and whistles still work as advertised. Just bought a Liberty for a tow vehicle for my motor home, hope it is as good as the Cherokee.

Keep away from this SUV - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By 2784 Penn State - December 14 - 2:00 amOne of the worst vehicles Ive ever owned. In the repair shop all the time. Spent over $6500.00 in 24 months on repairs. A/C, transfer case, power windows, moonroof, C/V joints, brakes...QUAD TRACTION is a nightmare. Consumer reports warned about this vehile...they were right.

My First Jeep - My Last Jeep - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By lr3looser - December 12 - 12:49 pmI own a $47,000 Cherokee Overland & found through a minor issue that Jeep customer care has protocals they follow regardless of cost or inconvience inflicted on the customer. This is the 1st Jeep product I ever owned and will be the last. Jeep sent me a software and map upgrade complimentry to me. Trying to install the map upgrade I found the vehicle vin number is not loaded in the nav system, thus it will not load the map upgrade. No dealer in Chicago has heard of this nor knows what to do to fix it. Jeep customer cares resolution is to bring the car to a dealer and experiment trying to fix it. No idea what may happen, how long it takes and no loaner read page 4 of the owner manual!
