Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

  • They Finally Did It! - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Just got my Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 Hemi (not under glass). This is as close to the perfect SUV as it gets. For starters, the exterior styling is pretty much non-descript and totally inoffensive. The inside is very comfortable. Seats are firm but not too firm. Lots of interior room. Has Bluetooth so your cellphone automatically kicks in and becomes handsfree in the car. The GPS and Sirius work like a charm. Nice oversize console box that can actually hold something useful besides three receipts and a paper clip. The Hemi is a beautiful thing. It is smooth, has a nice purr to it and gets your butt from 0-60 in 6.9 seconds. The ride is better than any SUV I have been, and thats saying a lot

  • My 2015 Grand Cherokee - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have owned Grand Cherokees since 1995. We bought our daughter one for college. Then I purchased a 1998 4x4, then a 2003 Overland (which I am still driving) and the 2015. I have had very few problems with my jeeps. I LOVE my Jeeps! If I could afford it, I would buy a 2017 because my daughter is driving the 2015. I had given her the Overland, but decided I wanted it back because I smoke and didnt want to smoke in the new one.

For 15 years, I rode and drove an 85 Tercel; my Jeep is quite the step up. I wont go bragging about my fuel mileage (its a 2-ton, V6), but I will go on about how comfortable and useful (Ive moved myself and several friends) it is. She runs like a champ, although there have been two major mechanical problems (cracked exhaust manifold, wonky fuel pump). I love the look of my truck as well, its got that boxy, truck feel; its not all sedanish like the later model years. Love it!

  • Will Never Buy Jeep Again - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Bought 2005 GC used in Aug 2006. Vehicle has been nothing but problems - steering column replaced, computer system replaced (at Chryslers cost), EGR valve replaced. Vehicle only has 46,000 miles on it. Vehicle would stall while driving, wouldnt start on first try - Jeep service dept didnt believe me when I told them it just "died" while driving. Now theres a rattling sound when slight pressure is put on gas pedal.

  • Jeep grand cherokee limited 5.2 - 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had this Jeep for 3 1/2yrs and had no problems. I have it serviced regularly and change oil religiously. Ive had other Jeeps and definately recommend the 5.2L engine. It seems smoother, has more get up and go and pulls a trailer much better.

Very driver friendly SUV. So convenient and pleasurable to drive.

  • Good for me.. - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Other than the fact that changing out the rear two spark plugs on the engine is a bit of a nightmare...and that a differential case gasket began to leak...the Grand Cherokee has been flawless. Very stable on rainy, wet streets, good to excellent acceleration and plenty of room for 5. Interior has held up very well...no problems there. All power options continue to work without problem. Fit and finish good for an SUV. Overall...one of the best Jeeps I have owned and driven (of 5 so far).

  • 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Purchased a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition 4WD with 31,000 miles. Excellent Condition both mechanically and physically. Vehicle has perfomed flawless, however it does appear to be less fuel efficient than my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2WD.

  • If it aint trail rated its not a Jeep. - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Best Midsize in its class hands down. I love mine along with my wife. The 4X4 is the greatest thing to have and Jeep excels in that department.

  • Very Powerfu,l Yet Well Refined - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I looked at a lot of SUVS and this by far the Grand Cherokee was the most soild nicest rideing vehical I drove. I have the 4.7 High Output V8 this moter is so powerful and the five speed Transmission shifts so smoothly that the engine hardly reves. If you are in the market for an SUV drive the Jeep Grand Cherokee first because you will compare it to everything else you drive and I think you will come back to the Jeep.
