Model Overview:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.

Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Very dependable and reliable vehicle with a lot of comfort. Made very well only needs a little improvement. Would recommend it to everyone for purchase. The pricing and service is excellent. Not much else to say except if you need a vehicle Jeep is the way to go. Dollar for dollar you receive a good quality product for your investment and it is money well spent. With this vehicle you have peace of mind for safety security knowing this vehicle is a fine SUV.

  • Car wont start multiple times - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMax in Dec, 2009. It has been to the dealership 3 separate times due to failure to start. First time they could not duplicate; second time they replaced a wireless control module; third time they replaced an ignition module. It needs to be towed tomorrow. It wont start again. No more Jeeps. I am terribly disappointed.

  • Your CRAZY!!!! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

How do I write a description of this SUV objectively? Please heed my words... First, never go tho Borniville Jeep in NH. They should not even be in business. Yes, even buying our Jeep was a nightmare. The Jeep is a Limited GC. We have been back to the Dealer (NOT Borniville!!!) 10 times! YES 10! Brakes, Transmission, Window Rubber, Oil Leak, Shaky Wheels. among others. Oh, and please dont let me forget the Leather Seats. They ripped after (normal use) 22,000 miles. I weigh 178lbs. Its not me... I ordered new ones (under war. thank GOD!) in APR. of this year. 6 months later, they still have not come in. My advice. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR _ DONT BUY ONE!

  • Awesome Jeep - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have a 2000 with only 48K on it. The nice 4.7L V8 definitely packs a punch. Towing my motorcycle trailer is no problem and at times you wouldnt even know you are towing anything. Sporty design, awesome leather interior for those long drives to bike week. The V8 gets about 16-17 MPG as I dont drive that far to work. This is an awesome Jeep and they just keep on getting better.

  • 5.7L Hemi 4x4 Limited W/ NAV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Amazing “sleeper” SUV. The Hemi V8 throws me back into the seat like I was driving my S2000, but with room for the road. It blazes up to speed and is great passing confidence on long steep grades. Great interior and electronics (e.g., integrated Bluetooth phone, 6-disk CD in an amazing stereo, Serious satellite radio, Nav system) and so many gadgets. Great undercover muscle car.

To date very pleased with most aspects of this vehicle. Great power for towing and the get-up to pass even while towing my boat. Backup camera is very useful as is park assist. it has a very nice ride and corners very well.

  • Acceleration Problems - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I bought this car in September 09 even though the reviews here mentioned acceleration issues, stalling and electric problems on the 07s. 3 weeks into owning the car the CHECK ENGINE light came on and the car stalled at 10mph/ 2RPM it wouldnt move no matter how hard I pressed the gas! I took it to the dealer and they replaced my gear shift Modual under warranty. Without a warranty it would have cost me $1,000! UNBELIEVABLE. Jeep needs to RECALL the gear shift modual on these cars before someone dies from losing power on the road.

  • Great 4 the $$$ - 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought my Jeep around Christmas 07 and its been a daily driver since. 255k when I bought it, now has 298k &still runs like hell. The 4.0 is bullet proof and so is the rest of the machine. I frequent the local mudhole/trails and drive this Jeep. It gives me no problems and will not get stuck. I also have a 96 limited Jeep w/ a 5.2 & all pwr that gives me constant problems, so stick with the simple model. Remember to change the fluids!

  • Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I absolutely love my Jeep. I got a dark blue Grand Cherokee Laredo and it is very nice inside and out. I was very skeptical about Jeep from what others have said, but mine is very reliable, pretty good on gas, and a comfortable, but fun ride. The stereo is nice sounding, and the seats are a very nice, comfortable cloth. I really love mine and looking forward to trying out the 4x4 in the future. I was honestly surprised by how well mine is with gas. I drive a fair amount and my gas is barely gone. I definitely recommend the car overall.

This is our 3rd Jeep. I like the upgrades of the 07 from the 04 I had. I put a lot of miles on it and tow my boat all over the state and eastern part of the country. The Jeep handles it great. Also - never an issue when driving in winter weather.
