The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

By Marmay - June 2 - 2:00 amOur 3rd GC a Christmas present.At 200 miles the "check engine" light came on.It was fixed. Every 200 miles after that it came on also, after 1,000 miles Chrysler is buying back to SUV. Faulty software in this model when fuel tank is 1/2 full and going up steep hills!

Only American product I would buy - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Yipeiokyay - June 1 - 3:43 pmWhen my PT Loser died I jumped on a great deal for this used 03 Laredo. The best decision I ever made. My son has a 97 with 170K and loves it and with the expected life of this SUV being around 500K I think we both will be driving them for years to come. We took both of them out in the snow the other night and had a great time. I cant wait to get it in the mud this Spring.

Last Jeep - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My first was a 68 Cherokee (like a 2-dr Wagoneer), a CJ-7, an 89 Wagoneer, a 91 small Cherokee, and my last Jeep EVER, a 2001 Grand Cherokee. One of the biggest reasons I will ever buy another Jeep, is because Chrysler has not continued the Jeep tradition established by American Motors. Sure, the fit & finish are a little better, but my 2006 Dodge Durango is more of a Jeep than this Jeep! My first gripe comes with the new four wheel drive systems (Quadtra Track II & Quadra-Drive). Both are AWFUL on ice. California people who climb rocks and traverse the desert may think its great, but in Minnesota it just doesnt "cut the mustard."

Now my cat is actually regens on its own. I make it a point to drive 20 highway miles a week at highway speed for regen. I also bought an aftermarket def injector cover since mine injector had malfunctioned twice. I have finally drove my diesel jeep for 40 consecutive days without check engine light going on... This is a first since I bought it

A capable, reliable SUV - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By dhmeieio - May 28 - 10:00 amPurchsed my Grand Cherokee Limited with 4.7L V8 and Upcountry suspension a couple months ago after owning a Liberty for two years. So far I am quite pleased. My needs are for a vehicle that can be both a daily driver and take me off the beaten path for camping, skiing and fishing, and the GC fits the bill. Since owning it Ive driven almost 400 miles offroad, along mountain and desert trails to some very remote sites. Ive had no problems whatsoever (other than a few scrapes on the skd plates). Fit, finish, ergonomics are all quite good.

By Jonesy1 - May 28 - 10:00 amThis is the best car I ever owned! The editors just dont know their stuff. Look at what owners say. The car ls beautiful, and its all wheel all-time drive is fantastic. It even saved my life once when I was forced offtheroad by a crazy driver. The only thing I would urge is for the Mfgr. to give a bit more seat room and lengthen the range of control over the seats.

Great Vehicle - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By M32762 - May 28 - 10:00 amWe purchased this jeep in April 2004 and immediately took a 12 hour trip to Florida with 4 adults and completely loaded with luggage and other items. Everyone was completely comfortable on the trip and had plenty of room. It drove like a cadillac only set up higher.

Dependable - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jim - May 28 - 12:20 amMy Jeep has been very dependable and fun to drive. I had to replace the fuel pump while it was still under warranty and the water pump after 80,000 miles. I now have 86,000 miles on the Jeep and my only complaint is the noise the rear end makes when you let your foot off the gas. I have used the Jeep to pull a 21ft boat and stumps out of the back yard and it has performed very well. It has also not let me down in the snow when I ski in Vermont and New Hampshire.
