Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Great in the snow - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Mike - November 10 - 12:10 amThis is our second Grand Cherokee. We travel a lot in the snow and ice. We have yet to find a better vehicle for that purpose. Handled our snow mobile trailer with no problems, even in deep show. The ride is 100% better than our 2003. Mileage averages 18-20 on the highway when I keep my foot out of it. (we have the Hemi)

A Forever Friend - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By marcy hudson - November 8 - 2:10 amI am actually sad as I move towards replacing my first Jeep (Grand Cherokee) after our 12 years together! I purchased this vehicle for a move to Northern Minnesota and it has proved to be a fabulous investment. It has performed wonderfully on my many trips and adventures, on-road and off, and is as beloved to my friends and child as it is to me. It saved my life when I spun off an icy highway and landed on a mound of snow unscathed. My Jeep braved a record cold winter (dipping to 60 degrees below zero) without missing a beat and has never failed to get me to my destination. In the past, I was in and out of the shop with a fussy luxury import. Now, I am a "Jeep" girl!

2014 JGC Summit Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By mr_kranky - November 6 - 9:18 pmPicked up my Grand Cherokee Summit with the EcoDiesel last week. Power delivery is exceptional with the 8 speed automatic and diesel engine. Averaging about 25 mpg in mixed driving with winter blend diesel. Fit and finish is flawless. Found a delivery checklist at Jeep Garage dot org and went over the Jeep with a fine tooth comb upon receipt, no issues. More snow headed our way this weekend so well see how the 4wd system works. So far, I am loving this vehicle. Truth be told, this is the nicest vehicle that I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few.

Grand Cherokee Overland V8 4x4 - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By defender97 - November 6 - 5:02 amWe bought this because it can be towed behind a Motorhome easily and the Landcruiser we had was at 100k plus miles. July 2012 . Overall nice ride. Comfortable no mechanical probs. Has 24 k miles on it now. We noticed the dash was bubbling up near windshield . Showed it to the dealer service dept . They stated they had seen it before and ordered a new on under warranty being installed as this is written.

Not bad overall - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By alenart - November 6 - 2:00 amSo Im not the only one who has had an unexpected rotor warping or two. I love the power of the V8, but dont love the fact that Im stopping for gas every 250-275 miles. The whine from the quadra-drive is very noticeable above 65mph. At 32k, the drive shaft to the front wheels had to be replaced since it clunked every time I would take off from a stop. The front window pillars are so thick that it makes it difficult to see other cars at 4-way stops. Im short, but there isnt even enough leg room in the rear seats for me. All that aside, the heated front seats, decent ride for an suv, 4wd system overall, sunroof, and stereo all exceed my expectations.

Overland/Overpriced/Overfed - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By JWR-11 - November 6 - 2:00 am2003 Jeep Overland -My 2nd Jeep - 4000 miles later.....plastic trim falling off, glass chipped on both side windows when delivered, engine performance at highway speeds poor , gas mileage terrible, build quality worse. Handles like a boat. For $39,000 I expected more Should have purchased a laredo 6 cyl for a little more than 1/2 price of this Overland. Wont buy another one.

Run away from this GREEDY manufacturer! - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By BlueSnow - November 6 - 2:00 amAnother disappointed Daimler-Chrysler buyer gets the shaft! From day one corporate has been the worst when it came to getting things resolved. The care for customer is nonexistent and the attention to quality leaves much to be desired. Do yourself a favor and save yourself many ulcers and headaches, forget the Daimler-Chrysler lineup until they can get their act together. Boosting the corporate bottom line is their primary concern while deleting 26,000 jobs and refurbishing top-level executive offices. Dont reward the crooks like so many of us have already done due to poor research, heres your warning.

Oil Pressure Beware - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DCFS - November 3 - 10:53 pmI purchased the 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo in May of 2001. About one year ago my oil pressure began to drop to the point the check engine light came on. I was told by the dealership the oil pressure gauge stopped working. I replaced the gauge and the issue continued, this time they told me the oil pump needed to be replaced. Replaced oil pump and issue continued again. The Jeep dealership after the third time in is now telling me this is a internal engine issue and replacement of the engine or total rebuilding of the engine are my options. 76,000 miles and my engine has a death sentence. If you have oil pressure issues with your Jeep start looking for another vehicle now. Avoid Jeeps!

Why did I buy? - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep Junk - November 2 - 2:56 amI bought this Overland used with 44,500 miles on it and I have had it for 2 weeks. The first day the heat stopped working on the drivers side (Im told is a common and EXPENSIVE problem) $680 I had that fixed after much yelling and screaming at the dealership. Now in the second week the truck gas mileage is down to about 10 miles to the gallon and is bogging down. I think it might have an upper intake gasket leak. It bucks when under power. I have put about 300 miles on the truck and this is the second time it needs to go in. What a piece of junk. I was warned about Chrysler products and wish I had took the warnings more serious. Next truck will definitely be foreign. Sorry USA.
