The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Best Jeep So Far - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep Ryan - November 15 - 10:00 amI bought this car with 19,000 miles and have put close to 19 on it myself. I have it serviced at the proper intervals and have had no problems at all. Looks like I will need my brake pads replaced ssoon as theyve recently been squeaking (37 k miles). The MPG is typical for a 4X4, but worse than my two previous Ford Explorers. Great sound system- I love the 10 disc changer. Power is average. If you crave power, you definitely need to get the V-8. My only real complaint is the A/C-- on really hot days it is terrible! Have taken it off-roading and through deep snow-- goes through it easily. Very good ride on long trips.

my jeep - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By whats up - November 15 - 10:00 aminterior is too small (tight) switches are too close,such as window,door locks,etc. should be moved further forward for comfort and ease. Also,the front seats need to be adjusted somehow so the seats can be moved further back if need be. They are now very limited. If someone wants to nap in a reclined position the headrest is too hard,even being down.

love it - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By maisey - November 15 - 10:00 amthis is the first new car I have ever bought for myself and I could not be happier, unless it got better gas mileage. But the good look and the great ride make up for that. I have the Laredo Special Edition so I am spoiled with the leather seats and all the extras... I will definately be a repeat buyer.

Transmission - 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Teik - November 13 - 4:50 pmI really loved my Jeep until the transmission went out without warning!! My jeep has less than 73000 miles. I knew that Chrysler was having problems with their jeeps in the mid to late 90s, but I bought my jeep used because I thought they had fixed the problem. I bought it with @42000 and 30000 miles later I am without a vehicle. I did contact Chrysler hoping that since the mileage was so low they would consider fixing it for free. It would have been nice if they would have at least diagnosed the problem, but of course they were completely hands off and of no service. I had just looked at the new Commander. Needless to say I didnt buy. Dont trust this vehicles drive train!!!

The best jeep - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jeeper02 - November 12 - 2:00 amThis is the best and most reliable jeep i have owned. My family has 4 others cherokee, CJ-7, Wrangler, and commanche. The engine is great. Will pull most things easy. Drives great in the snow with trailer. Very realiable.

ITS BEEN GOOD - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep282 - November 12 - 2:00 amI got my jeep grand cherokee with 114,000 miles. ITs been a great car. Ive had it for several months and ive had little problems. I had to replace the exhuast manefold cuase it cracked, but ive been reading up its a thing that happnes on jeeps so that was about 600 to fix. and it doesnt bother me because i got such a good deal on the jeep. Even at 115,000 miles now its a great truck to drive. 4 wheel drive is the greatest. THe stereo sucks though, so i replaced it.

By warreaglpam - November 12 - 2:00 amOverall, this has been an excellent vehicle. A couple quality problems at purchase, with stereo and front passenger seat. Quickly replaced. This car has been involved in 2 accidents with significant damage. Quality of repairs by Jeep Dealership excellent. Still a blast to drive and looks great. Interior holding up beautifully at almost 150,000 miles. Only mechanical problem experienced happened at around 144,000 miles: fuel pump. We have gotten a great value in this SUV.

Never Again... - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Dissapointed - November 10 - 8:10 pmThis was the first vehicle I bought brand new. If I have ever had a vehicle nickel and dime me, it would be this one. Little things that arent covered by the warranty. It started about 20K miles, with the brakes, and went downhill from there, rear axle, power steering, an electric window broke (in the winter), and CD player to name a few. If you dont mind the little fixes, go ahead and buy one. If you want a vehicle to stand by their warranty and is proud of their name. Dont go with any Chrysler. I love to drive this car, but I cant stand the "issues". I have never EVER put as much money into all of my cars combine, as I have put into this one.

Love my jeep - only one problem (so far) - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By SonoAndrea - November 10 - 10:00 amI leased my 2000 JGC brand-new, then purchased at the end of my lease. I had one problem that took a year and 6 visits to the dealership to fix - presented as a problem with the coolant resevoir and ultimately turned out to be a cracked head gaskets. No problems whatsoever since this was fixed. I drive 90 miles per day, mostly highway, and get about 21mpg. I have thought about trading for something with better efficiency or newer and more reliable, but cant find anything I like as much. Only time I have trouble is when the roads are icy (rear wheel drive), but thats my problem for not going with the 4x4. I love my Jeep and plan to buy another in future.

My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokke LE4x4 Review - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Geico - November 10 - 10:00 amI have driven my Jeep to the Extreme, I have made it go into 4 feet of water with absolutly no problem. I like the the way it picks up speed quickly. Ride is not so soft but its not too hard like the Nissan X-terras. The SUV looks quite stylish and a little expensive looking. The Tailgate door needs a little more of a matching design. the rear tailgate door looks a lot like its relative the Dodge Minivan. Ive seen the new 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee they look nice but still no third row seats. But yes I do recommend eep other than it seems like most Jeeps have a rear light problem.
