Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

A way better Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DartGTS - December 12 - 3:23 pmComparing this Jeep to our last Grand Cherokee Limited, I would say Jeep hit a homerun. It rides, handles, and performs better than the past model. The driver is rewarded with more interior room and is by far more luxurious.

Nice! - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Matthew - December 9 - 12:36 pmAn exellect vehicle all around. Great off-road capablitlies and fun to drive. After 8 years there were no problems with. The downside was the fuel consumption, which at best was around 20 mpg. Took very good care of it and it shows.

One problem after another... - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By firstandlastjeep - December 8 - 10:00 amThe 1st wk, with 132 miles on our new Jeep, a large rattling noise turned out to be a "part that was put in backwards." At 2000 miles, the Jeep broke down with symptoms of a failed transmission. The dealer, Buerge Jeep West LA refused me a rental car until I forced the issue and got a tiny, uncomfortable compact car. Never any apologies. When I picked up the car 3 days later, I waited 45 mins for my car 100 feet away. The leather seat and floor had black marks which werent there before. When I mentioned this to the driver, he said "talk to the mgr." Buerge Jeep in West L.A. has horrible cust. svc! Never will we buy/recommend any Jeep product.

Very Satisfied! - 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Very Satisfied!!! - December 7 - 5:40 amMy husband and I have been a Jeep family since 1974 and my Dad owned a Willys Jeep. We had a 1974, 1979, 1995, 1998 and then this 2002. This 2002 Overland has been the best Jeep that we have owned. It has 110,000 miles on it and still going. Sorry, but I have not I liked the Jeep product since the 2002 Jeep. Something happened to the back seat. The seat has shrunk. The back seat just isnt comfortable for the passenger. Too much plastic on the dashboard now and no storage area on the dashboard. I feel sad that I need to pick a different product for my next vehicle. Why ruin a perfect vehicle?

TIPM recalled part - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By ADRIANA PAEZ - December 6 - 6:23 pmPurchases a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee after looking at SUV ratings which rate it as one of the best SUVs to buy. Less than a year into it my car wont start. It idles but it will not start. I was told it is a fuel pump problem which is housed in the TIPM part. I have taken the car back 4 times with the same issue. The TIPM part has been replaced twice. This is not what you expect from a new car. I am a woman who is afraid of the reliability of my brand new car. It appears I am not the only one with this issue. I wish I would have known before. I had always purchased Acuras before with no problems. I regret this buy. I will be reaching out to Chrysler and apply the lemon law. Wish me luck.

It is OK - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Richard Parris - December 3 - 1:51 amThe 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited that got T-boned and this replaced seemed to have much more user friendly dashboard control settings. Check engine light came on shortly after purchase at 113000 miles and needed two repairs to fix that the 30 day warranty charged two $100 deductibles for and didnt completely cover other parts of what was only One problem. The steering wheel makes noises when making sharp turns into parking places. The cruise control has to be pushed just right in the lower bottom of the control to activate. And the ride on city streets seems pretty bumpy.

Nine years and going strong - 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Clarke - December 2 - 2:00 amOverall, a reliable SUV with no surprises. The car design still looks great after nine years and has held up well. Some rattles around the dashboard and a recent one inside the passenger door - that can all be silenced if I get the time. The body looks great.

Grand Cherokee fun to drive - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By daveloveshisjeep - December 2 - 2:00 amI have had a very good experience with my Jeep. I was a little concern about buying a redesigned model in 1999. But I bought it at the end of the model run, and they must have ironed out the kinks because I have had no problems with mine. Very reliable, fun to drive, great acceleration.

Incredible, funny and sporty SUV - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Flavio - December 2 - 2:00 amIf you are looking for SUV and do not require a looot of room for cargo/backseats, this is the SUV for you!!!! After Merecedes took over Jeep/Chrysler everything started to improve on the american plants of Chrysler/Dodge/Playmouth.... And this is a true example of it... Fun to drive, nice sound system, best 4X4 system in the world (Quadra-drive), I only think Audi QUATTRO is better, but hey they do not make SUVs....
