Overview & Reviews
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the pioneers that ushered in the modern midsize SUV in the early 1990s. Jeep has always wanted the Grand Cherokee to be maneuverable enough for urban duty, roomy enough for family duty, stylish enough to take out on the town and capable enough to tow your toys or shuttle your passengers to a remote campsite. Modern Grand Cherokees are far more refined than the early models, but they're no less versatile.
Unlike most other traditional SUVs, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been built using a carlike unibody platform for superior on-road handling. Yet Jeep's strong reputation for off-road prowess is retained, thanks to the Grand Cherokee's advanced four-wheel-drive systems and capable suspension. It's a rare combination of attributes in a modern utility vehicle, as the Jeep is able to venture farther off the beaten path than competing crossover SUVs.

Great Time to Buy a Grand Cherokee - 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Randy A. Rhoad - January 31 - 6:26 pmI have owned numerous BMWs over the years. I recently sold a 2007 550i and was considering an X5. I learned that Jeep was giving steep discounts on their 2010 models. I am very impressed with the Limited Hemi. Very solid and incredible features for the money. Very similar in size to the X5 in terms of back seat space. The best part is that purchased it for $7500 less than MSRP due to the dealer and Jeep discounts. Great time to buy a Grand.

Melon - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By 43K down the tube! - January 31 - 9:30 amFun to drive, major mechanical problems. Replaced fuel pump twice, replaced routers and brakes twice. Only 22K miles. Bird droppings ate all the way to the primer(dark red paint). didnt expect these things to happen to a new car.

Nice Change - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By rudy60 - January 30 - 9:08 pmI bought my car about 1 month ago. I have owned Jeeps since 1985, with the last one being a 1996 that had over 217K miles on it when I sold it...to my mechanic by the way. If this car does as well, I will be a very happy, camper. So far this car is much more advanced, in looks, ride and performance. I could not be happier w/ the almost 2000 miles I have put on it thus far. I get lots of looks(especially from Acura MDX and BMW X5 drivers) and feel very proud to own a Jeep.

Holy Crap! - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By GI Joe 44 - January 30 - 7:50 amI bought this Jeep for my wife before my last tour in Iraq. When I came home there were very few issues, and after some repairs we took it on a trek across country and back. just over 5000 miles. Last night while driving though the mountains, we got hit with a cross wind that shoved me left and ripped the sunroof right out of the vehicle. It was raining and the sunroof was closed tightly. None of the interior windows were open.

3 months later... - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By WillieJ - January 28 - 11:16 pmI have owned my Jeep for 3 months now and I have over 5000 miles on it. I love my Jeep just as much as I did when I bought it in September. Ive noticed that the ride has gotten a little jittery, but nothing unbearable. The performance is pretty good, but the fuel economy has dropped in the winter months to the mid 15 mpg. The lowest I have gotten was 13.8 ... best on HWY is 17. Its a blast in the snow! Legroom a little tight in the rear, especially behind the driver seat.

Proud to own an American! - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By tn22310 - January 28 - 4:46 pmBought a JGC Overland with 5.7 HEMI. What a nice car! Very quiet yet engine is strong when it needs to be. I was considering to buy a Range Rover Sport, but JGC has definitely nicer ride and navigation system with hard drive to rip your songs. If you are considering JGC, try to get the HID headlight because they are really bright.

TRANY IS JUNK - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By NICK - January 26 - 6:10 pmbought this vehicle Jan 09, with 17000 miles on it and thought I had purchased a good vehicle. have owner several jeeps before without problems , all being wranglers so I would consider myself a loyal Jeep owner. The transmission light on the dash has came off and on several times but has never acted or done anything weird and went out. Just prior to reaching 22,000 miles the transmission just died. I could manually shift in 1st 2nd and reverse and thats it. just took it to the dealer and they have to rebuild it. as I was looking through these posts I think this wont be the last time either. DONT buy this vehicle. If the trany drops after 22,000 miles I cant wait to see what else will happen

The Powerful Beast - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Danielle - January 26 - 7:20 amI have owned my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee for over a year now. It is my first vehicle and my mom also owns one (1998 though). It is very reliable and the only problems have been mostly from abuse of past owner. The CV shaft on the driver side was badly torn but other than that, no major problems. It handles well on-road, as well as off-road.
