  • Great For Mkt Segment Comparison - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Sonata GLS 6A is over 7 months old now with over 15,000 miles. Never had below 30 mpg per tank, mid to high 30s on long trips. There are intermittent creaks & vibrations. Dont expect a perfect car, never knew one exist. Otherwise, there will be only 1 car, 1 model. Dislike rear view on new cars, cant see out when backing. Installed Gentex auto dimming mirror w rear camera to correct shortcoming. Most new cars are like that now, sadly. 11.3 compression GDI engine is louder before warmed up. When go for mpg, you have to give up something, OK to me. Not so noticeable when warmed up, but still louder than conventional engines if you open hood to listen. Factory insulation helped. :-)

  • Have your cake and eat all you want - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I am amazed at the power of the 2.o engine. I have owned nothing but v-8 mustangs for the last twenty years with my last one being a 2000 gt. Once you are going, this car accelerates just as hard as my last mustang (and gets ten miles per gallon better mileage). Cornering is a little scary. I dont have much feel for the road in this car. It is quite responsive and agile for a car this size. Without diving it more it is just hard to tell where its limits are. Me and my kids love the heated front and rear seats. If the seats were any more comfortable they would probably be illegal for auto use. People would be falling asleep.

  • Look for starter problems. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

We just replaced the starter in our 75K mile 2011 Hyundai Sonata. We were told that the starter is a very common problem for this car, and sure enough, what presented as a possible battery problem that was difficult/impossible to jump turned out to be a starter. This is the first and only mechanical problem we have had with the car. Other than that, it is loud on the road and seats are uncomfy for me at 54", but it has been a great car. Just be prepared to shell out $500-700 for the starter.

  • Tough to beat the 2011 Sonata Limited - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Love my new 2011 Sonata. Great value, great design, great ride, highly rated for safety and extremely well equipped. Getting about 37 MPG! And car has plenty of power for a 4 cyl with 198 HP.

  • Sonata 2011 Ltd. 4 cylinder - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I purchased my 2011 Sonata Ltd April 17th, 20010 and left for a drive across Canada on April 20th. I have now about 6,700 KM and it has performed outstandingly. It flew over and mountains and runs like a rabbit on level highway. I received many unsolicited compliments on the design. They think it is a new BMW or Lexus. Extremely happy. Voice on GPS is only downer and I cant seem to change it.

  • Issues - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Anyone else notice these issues? Tire noise! Steering gets quite heavy above 60 mph. You have to work on it to keep it going straight on freeway. Suspension a little too stiff.

  • Wonderful Buy! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I traded in my Toyota 4Runner, with the hopes of looking for a more fuel economical car. With all the recalls that Toyota has, I looked to Hyundai and test drove the all-new Sonata. I was sold on it immediately! The car handled like a dream, was roomy and the MPG was just phenomenal! I got 38 mpg on the way home from the dealership, and it hasnt gone below 30 mpg for city driving yet.

  • Incredible Car! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I am obsessed with this car! It looks incredible (people are always staring, in shock that its a Hyundai-just as I was when I first saw the car!) and it is so fun to drive! The inside is roomy and comfortable. The trunk is also very large. I have never owned any car that wasnt a Toyota, but once I drove this, I had to have it! I definitely recommend paying a bit more and going for the SE model! The dealership gave me a great deal and I am excited every time I get in my car!

  • An absolute MUST buy! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

It was down to a Malibu, Fusion, and Sonata, and we went with the Sonata. You cant beat the combination of a huge interior, great gas milage, safety, and the best price in the market for what you get. I love how nimble the handling is and how quick the 198HP engine is. We got an amazing deal on a GLS with popular equipment package. Right now the only gripe I have is with the drivers seat. It seems like they could have made it a little more comfortable/ergonomic. It isnt too bad, but I guess Im nitpicking. We love that the trunk actually opens all the way when you hit the FOB button. The ride is pretty solid.. kind of a mix between the plush Camry ride and the sporty Fusion ride.
