  • 679 miles, XM radio not working, rattle on sunroof - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Traded my 2006 Toyota Avalon which had 118000 miles and had way too many recalls and expensive repairs. My 02 Camry is still running with 174000 miles on it without any problem wife already bought a 2011 Honda Accord EX . So bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited after researching the vehicle and had no other choice . Love driving but sunroof rattles fixed at 450 miles and last two weeks XM radio has no signal. Sent several signals to the radio , still not working. dealer has ordered new XM antena. I hope no rattles come back after installing new antena, because roof liner needs to be removed from the back . I hope this car does not turn out to be another problematic Toyota Avalon. NJ

  • Its a car, nothing special - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Bought the car for the wife and the title is basically her comment. The performance is OK, but not exceptional and it gets worse on bad roads - seems to be engineered for smooth rides on smooth roads.

I have driven Chevy, Dodge & Mazda and am so Happy I made this purchase. I got rid of a car with Gas mileage of 26/32 and This car blew my mind with the look and value. I love the GPS and Bluetooth which other cars have but jack up the price over 25k.

My suggestion to anyone considering buying this car, test drive it at night on a road not well lit. the line of vision from the headlights is terrible. I find myself constantly using my high beams to see. Also you have to be at a complete stop to reset the trip odometer, so if you are using mapquest and want to reset point to point you have to stop the car? what genius devised this? Defroster doesnt work, i am taking to the dealer on Monday, the service manager seemed miffed. Glove box rattle is a design flaw had to fix myself with a small piece of Velcro. Its a decent car, my fear is the car is in such demand that more quality issues will arise from production output pressures.

  • Good car. Good value. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have driven my Sonata 2011 for about 15K miles so far. Havent had a problem yet. When I was in the market I looked at Toyota, Camry and Ford midsize sedan models. After comparing cost, features and gas mileage, the Sonata gave me the most bang for my buck. So I went head and bought a 2011 Sonata GLS. I have a long commute to work and have put nearly 15K miles on the car. I brought it in for scheduled services but nothing else. If I had to pick on something about my Sonata is that the engine has a rattling noise since the beginning. It almost sounds like a Diesel engine. I asked the dealer about this and they told me that it is normal and there are no repairs needed.

I have owned an Elantra for the last ten years and it came time to replace it.As a result I shopped the mid-price domestic and import market. The best for the money was the 2011 Sonata. I leased the se in pearl white. From the moment I drove it home I knew I made a good move. It handles great ,it appears to be economic, looks great, well planned interior. The 4cyl 200 horse is plenty of power. Bluetooth is a real plus, electric start is the best. If you are in the market for a new car put the Sonata on your must check out list

I owned a 2005 Sonata GLS for 7 years & never had a problem with it .I was so satisfied with it I decided to go for another Sonata. I have been looking for a while & came upon the 2011 Sonata I recently got. I love it as much as my 2005 model. Very happy they put the lights on the steering for the cruise, radio, etc. That was a big plus. A very sharp looking car. So far very satisfied with it. After I have had it a while I will repost a review but I dont believe the review will have anything negative. I highly recommend this vehicle. Even going from a V6 to a 4 cyl I am still impressed with the pick up & speed. I look for many happy years with this car! Very HAPPY!

  • No Buyers Remorse Here. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have the Limited with Nav. Now have 1200 miles. I love this car. Beautiful exterior and interior. I look at the car more then I look at my wife lol. Look at the Consumer Ratings under Edmunds and Yahoo Auto and then look at the same reviews for the Camry and Accord. They have buyers remorse. We dont. If someone were to ask me to trade this car for their $38,000 Taurus or Lacrosse I would say NO. Knowing what I know now I would have paid $3000 more to own this car.

Great overall experience. I had my mind made up on a Tuscon, saw this beauty on the lot and said lets give it a try. This car is unbelievable for the price. Looks and rides like luxury car, but its $10k less. Great experience at the dealership This Car is HEAD TURNER!!

  • Amazing Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

We had been looking around for a mid- size sedan for quite sometime till we came across this beauty. It has everything that one could possibly imagine at a price that will not break the bank. Score a pretty good deal on a GLS model with a popular package. I have been driving around for just a couple of days but I think build quality wise this car should not give any trouble for a long time to come. Please take a test drive on this one before you buy any comparable car from other companies such as Accord, Camry, Mazda6, Malibu etc.
