  • 2011 Sonata Turbo - Inherent Rattle that Hyundai says is expected. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

The car is fantastic with one minor flaw that you may run into: The car Rattles when going between 2000-3500 RPM. There is a TSB from Hyundai stating that the rattle is expected and they wont fix it: During normal engine operation, natural engine vibrations are transmitted to the turbocharger waste gate actuator rod, the pivot point, and the waste gate valve. The rattle or buzzing sound that may occur results from the required tolerances in the waste gate pivot point and the waste gate valve. These tolerances are necessary to allow operation under the extreme operating temperatures experienced by the turbocharger. This is unacceptable. I hate that I bought this car.

  • Best car I ever purchased! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

All I can say is WOW! I did not test drive this car, I bought it online and had it delivered to me at work. I was a little worried about it only being a 4cyl. But to my surprize this car has the get up and go to pass anything on the road. It rides and handles great, I live in the ozark mountains and it is darn right fun to drive through the curves, climbs the mountains without hesitation. I get 34 mpg through the mountains and got as high as 37mpg on flat land with cruise. some of the plastic in the interior could be better grade, but for the money this is one sweet ride. I used to have a lexus SC400 and I rate the sonata right up there with it!

  • Head Of The Pack! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

34,500 miles, used, and still going strong. At first, I didnt like the vinyl dash, but good protectant has it looking like leather. Steering is tight and responsive. Lots of room in engine compartment; easy to maintain. Dealership was a GM one and even the salesman was impressed. I feel like a kid driving Dads better car again. Read the Edmunds review and confirm this is the best in class, all around, at an affordable price.

  • Great safety features and gas mileage! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

The only things I can complain about are as follows: traction was poor in the snow until I bought all season tires (I would suggest you do the same if you live in a snowy state); brakes were better after I had new ones installed; interior is basic, no heated seats or anything- but comfortable enough; poor placement of drive shift when you want to access car charger or front console storage and air conditioner/heat vents are not placed that great for the driver. Other than these minor tweaks- I found the car to be enjoyable to drive and pleasant to look at. Mainly bought it for gas mileage and safety ratings- which are still great after 5 years.

  • Excellent car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I drove the car for 3 months and 3200 miles. I am very pleased with the car in general. Especially I like the power and fuel economy. Everything works perfectly, no complaints. When I want some action I take over the shifting and this car flies. I replaced the headlight bulbs with HID bulbs and added GPS with rear camera an now it is perfect. For the price I do not think you can get anything close to this. Just a remark I tried to lease a Ford Focus and they wanted $330 per month? For Focus base model? I have 3 Hyundais I am very pleased with them.

  • One Very Satisfied Customer - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

When the first pictures from the Los Angeles auto show appeared in December I said to myself, "This is my next car if it proves out." It has proven out. A test drive revealed the quietness, the comfort, the smoothness of the transmission, the zip (before you know it youre doing 60), the interior fit and finish, and all the luxurious features such as the trip meter and the XM radio, which I have grown to love. I prefer cloth seats to leather, so the GLS is just the ticket -- all I need and then some. I look for excuses to go somewhere in my silver ghost.

  • A Sonata in A+ Major - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Theres a reason users give it a 9.7 and Efmunds only 7.8. Edmunds was only with it for a few hours. Live with this car and you will love looking at it before you get in and love it even more behind the wheel. First, it looks and feels more like a Benz than a Hyundai. I still cant believe I bought a Hyundai and Im lovin every moment of it. Got a Limited in Black. Wow, does this car sparkle. And does it get looks from others. I had 2 guys in a new Porsche Turbo convertible turn around once they past me just to look at the front. The car speaks luxury. And all for very little $$. I had a 2007 Camry XLE with V-6 and got tired of this boring car and seeing myself coming and going.

  • Awesome Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Pretty Comfy ride. SE is more rough, but the limited is smooth. I am confident that you can get a loaded Limited w/o nav for 23,5 or 24 as opposed to the MSRP. The engine though deceivingly small, is pretty powerful. People complain about not having a V-6, but unless you live in a hilly rural or suburban area, I dont see the point at all. I think Hyundai did good finally after all these years. They convinced me, and I admit I used to laugh at Hyundai until recently. Ultimately we bought this car for the safety, feel, warranty and looks. Cant comment about reliability just yet, although the Sonata has been doing good in the past couple of years. But we are very optimistic!
