  Too much road noise! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

  Yikes. Too much road/tire noise! I have insulated the trunk and under the back seat--to no avail. Went I hit the slightest bit rough pavement the sound just overwhelms me. I owned a Camry before and I must say I miss the softer quieter more refined ride of that car even though its steering was a little too soft. Has anyone tried anything that worked to lower the noise level?

  This is my first non-luxury purchase and I bought it on impulse because I was so impressed by the styling and packaging when I saw it on the road on my way to work. The one thing I truly hated was the over-boosted power assist, which was addressed by an ECU software update when I brought it in yesterday for the power steering shaft recall. Now the steering feels more naturally weighted and connected to the wheels. I almost dont have any complaints except for the manual passenger side seat. My bias is towards its performance because of owning a BMW and Lexus. Having said that, I consider the Sonata to be the best looking practical car out there. I think my other cars are intimidated by it :)

  Ive had my Sonata for a week. Im still looking for something not to like. Performance, handling, an styling are beyond description. The options (bluetooth, XM, power driver seat) just make it too good to be true. Then theres the Hyundai warranty; my dealership also threw in free car washes (twice per wk). I had been looking at the Sonata for years. With this years new styling and revamped engine it was easy to make the move.

  I just bought this base model vehicle and felt like i bought a loaded model. Toyota would never be so generous in a CE. Hands-free bluetooth is a great feature. Includes cruise control, and trip features. I got 30 mpg on my first tank of gas. It cruises like any other 4 cyl., but performs like a 6 cyl. when acceleration is required. Hyundai stepped its game up big time.

  A big change from an Altima - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

  Bought this car last month and so far it has not disappointed me in the least. The ride is comfortable, but not as soft as the Altima but that is why it is sport tuned. Took it ont he highway and was doing close to 85 without knowing it-very good ride. i am filling up tomorrow to check the mileage since this was mainly parkway driving,no lights, etc. My Altima got 31mpghighway wiht the 2.5L four so we will see.

  I love this car in and out. The best car i ever had. Can easily beat accord in FC, exterior performance..and Camry without paying lot more.

  Drivers seat - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

  The only thing I am truly disappointed in is that the drivers seat is very short and, if you have long legs, you will not be comfortable driving this car. Otherwise, everything else from the steering to the get up and go with only a 4-cylinder is wonderful.

  Impressed by first Hyundai - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

  This is our first Hyundai. Between my wife and I, we have put on about 3500 miles (70/30 Hwy/Cty). Gas mileage has been averaging around 27-28 mpg. I am 6 ft. 3 in. tall and my wife is 5 ft. 2 in. We both find the seats to be comfortable and supportive. Our car had a mid level upgrade that came with Nav/XM/iPod/Bluetooth. The 300+ watt stereo with Dimensions brand speakers produces quality sound (not earth shaking) with a variety of music. Interior fit and finish seem to be spot on. Exterior has been holding up well. I just finished a drive to Vegas from L. A. and found the ride to be very smooth, quiet and solid, qualities we didnt expect with Hyundai. Dont pass this car up!

  I enjoy riding in and driving this car - when I can keep it out of the shop. The service department people are great to me but cant seem to get all of the problems fixed. So far, the brake sensor went out, had a steering part recall, replaced the shift knob. Theres an AC-related intermittent knock in the glove box area that a new AC compressor didnt fix it. Something in the steering or suspension rattles over rough road or bad parking lots. A new strut assembly didnt help. The auto lock works but doesnt beep, but does double-beep when I unlock it. Sometime the driver window wont go back up, but the service guys cant duplicate that. Its tiresome.

  I have nothing bad to say about my 2011 Hyundai Sonata in regards to the performance. I feel it is a great car for the money and you cant beat the warranty.
