  • One nagging problem - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Since buying the car Ive had a wind noise at the front doors. Ive been to the dealer 8 times to try to get this fixed. They adjusted my door one time but it didnt help. I drove a different Sonata today with a service writer and even the new one had the same annoying noise. He said he hears it, but never noticed it until I pointed it out. I called Hyundai consumer affairs and am waiting to see what they will do for me. I told them Id like then to buy the car back. Ive never been more unhappy with a car. If not for this one problem, I would be very pleased with it. Be sure to take the actual one you are going to buy for a test drive first and pay attention to wind noise.

  • Overall, its nice - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

But Im concerned. The suspension is too tight--I feel every little bump in the road. And what is obviously something that is going to have to be addressed by Hyundai is the fact the car pulls dramatically to the left at speeds higher than 40 mph. I took it to the dealership shortly after I bought it to get it looked at. I was told that the steering is electronic and that it was due to the crown of the road that the car pulls to the left. Then I got home and did a google search for "Hyundai Sonata pulls to the left" and WOW! Many are having this problem and Hyundai pretends the issue doesnt exist. Im going to give it a chance and go back to the dealership armed with new knowledge.

  • Love the look...NOT pleased with the performance and durability - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

This was my very first new car. I was very pleased with the price. I got the Hyundai employee discount. I only paid about $16,800 for a brand new vehicle! I love the gas mileage and look, however, I do am not pleased with the vehicle. My car is only a year old and I have had SEVERAL issues with it. My door fram has peeled twice, my steerling wheel has peeled, my horn quit working, my light buttons stick and on top of this my engine tries to stall upon excelleration( which they still have not fixed because they said it isnt showing up on the computer) Its annoying to have to contine to drive 100 miles round trip to get it fixed all of the time. Its a new car..shouldnt be happening.:(:(:(

  • Couldnt be happier with my decision - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have about 40,000 miles on my sonata and have not had one problem. Aside from replacing the brake pads, thats the only work its had to have. It will be a sad day when I have to sell this car. I absolutely love how it drives. It is quiet, and everyone who drives it always remarks how great it handles and how fun it is to drive.

  • Back to Hyundai - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I was one of the the late 80s Hyundai owners and we gave up on the cars because of quality issues. So when my wifes Buick was going down, I decided to try Hyundai again because of rising quality ratings. So we test drove a 2008 Sonata SE and she fell in love with it. Not one problem with it! I now own the 2011 Sonata SE and am very pleased with the design and built quality of this car! I have over 1200 miles now and the Hwy mileage is around 35-38 MPG and the city around 25 MPG. Try one youll buy one. People do look twice!

  • A Sonata Weekend - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Rented 2011 Sonata on recent extended weekend trip to SC. My basis for comparisons - Currently drive 2006 Sonata LX (V6). First impressions - Looks even better than in pictures. On the road - Impressive. While difference in power compared to V6 is noticed, adjusted driving style to adapt to four cylinder and a bit of time to settle in found me pleased. Quiet. Handles quite well. Tranny is very smooth. Ride is a nice compromise between hardness of sport and comfort of luxury. This is the entry level model and it was full of great features including BlueTooth and XM. Fit & Finish - Sleek and well built. Hyundai has taken a good car and made it great. Must resist the urge to trade!

  • One of the Best cars I have owned - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I have owned dozens of cars from various manufacturers. This is one of the two best cars I have ever owned. Test drove a Honda Accord, a Toyota Camray, a Chevy Malibu, a Niassan Altima and a Kia Optima. This car had them all beat, hands down. As much power as the six cylinder I traded for it. My brother, who just bought a Lexus 350 IS a few months ago drove it. He said if he hadnt already bought the Lexus, he would have bought a Sonata. Hyundia got it right with this car.

  • Sonata= let down - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Bought used with 35,000 miles about 2 years ago. Within the first year, the thermostat had to be replaced (not covered under warranty). Now, the power door lock does not work on the passengers side and the drivers side window picks and chooses when it wants to work. 05 Honda Accord w 160k still starts easier on colder mornings. This car grinds terribly and takes too long to turn over for a car this new! Nothing but cheap Korean plastic and metal that is like tin foil! Looks good but looks are deceiving! Painted trim on steering wheel is peeling as well. Will be trading for a new Honda Civic or Accord very soon! Wheel well also busted after hitting very small object. Too flimsy!

  • Hyundai--You Hit a Grand Slam - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Originally looking for a SUV---but when I saw the Sonata 2011 fell in love with the great looks. Picked up car on Aug.16 and so far it has been great. A fun car to drive and a very peppy four cylinder will amaze you----it has great pickup. Handling seems great so far and the regular sound system that comes with xm radio is great. Bluetooth syncs easily with my Hero 200 Android phone and is a great feature with controls on steering wheel. Would recommend to all. The harbor gray color is fantastic.

this car is the best vehicle I could have ever picked, it has the feel of a luxury car without the luxury car price tag. My family has complimented me on my choice of car (even though they have all owned only american cars) I would be willing to bet one of them might end up in one also. The sleek lines get head turns everywhere I go.
