  • 102K miles and still going strong - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I bought my 2011 Hyundai Sonata off the showroom floor with 3 miles on it. I travel for a living so reliability and comfort were king. In addition the gas mileage on my model is still 36 MPG. I got 60k miles on the stock tires and put the second set of shoes on and it is a lot quieter. I have had no major or minor repair issues. I keep the oil changed and tires rotated and it has been great. I hope to hit 200K with no problems.

  • Best new car Ive bought! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I tend to hold on to my vehicles for a while so this is only the third new vehicle Ive bought. I have to say that its a pleasant surprise to see Hyundai has stepped up to the plate with a car that challenges and beats Honda and Toyota in my opinion. Im very happy with everything from the roomy interior with great stereo, to the stunning exterior styling. Gauges are fairly easy to read and the controls are easy to adapt to. Everything is where it should be. Ive never really been a fan of cars due to my height, Im 61", and have had problems with anything other than trucks. This car is very comfortable for me. Entry and exit are easy and cause no issues. Highly recommend this car!

  • Good value - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Many features for the money. Good gas mileage and more than adequate power. 6 speed automatic shifts smoothly in all ranges. Sound system is very good and the bluetooth is user friendly and transmits and receives quite clearly. A design defect prevents the side mirrors from traversing high enough to see the road completely. The dash lights dim for no apparent reason at random frequencies when the headlights are on. 4 cyl is a bit loud and the suspension is rough over bumps at low speed on city streets.

  • Update, Have you experienced this? - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

This is an update to my previous post. While driving on the highway (65-70) I put the rear window(s) down (front windows were up). The wind noise created was a loud, deep rumble like something vibrating in the frame. I thought I had a serious problem but then I opened the front and it went away. I wouldnt normally drive with either rear windows opened with the front ones closed and this happened by accident. I cant believe it is only my car and assume this affects all 2011 Sonatas. Try it and see if you get the same. Front windows closed and either 1 or both rear windows opened at highway speeds. No big deal for me and the car has been great so far but Hyundai should fix the cause.

  • Real Head Turner! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I just bought my Sonata SE yesterday. After test driving more than 20 vehicles, this was the most comfortable and easy to handle, plus the price was AWESOME and the features were unmatched! I have gotten so many compliments on the sporty style of it too, plus is has so much cabin space! Its a real head turner on the road!

  • 0ver 30 years loyal to Honda - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

The CEO of Honda said and I quote Hyundai is a awesome company . Hyundai is doing what Honda did 30 to 40 years ago making a great car at a fair price.

  • So far, so good - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Looked at competitive models (including older Sonata) for 2 years and were never satisfied enough to buy. Price always got too high for proper equipment level and fuel mileages were usually too low. The 2011 Sonata looks good on paper and so far, has lived up to Hyundais specs. Performance and handling are more than adequate and fuel mileage is as good as a 4 cylinder small car. Interior room is ample plus. Great setup of dash and controls for driver and the ride is smooth and quiet. The electric assisted power steering took awhile to adjust to but after 1000 miles Im fine with it. In my opinion, this car looks sharp, in and out, and has excellent fit and finish at any price level.

  • 2 adults--1 baby - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Sonata GLS manual--3 year Lease: 15k mi/yr (45k total) no money down (36 payments) $229/mo I have had the car for less than 1 month--greatly enjoying it. We compared the sonata to the accord, camry, mazda6, & altima. The sonata is a wonderful car if youre in the market for a safe family car. The interior is large enough to hold a baby carrier in the back and lots of leg room in the front. The outside looks like an entry-level lexus to me. Gas milage has been more like 24mi/gal so far :( We received a wide range of offers, most of which were near $300. I hope we got a good deal on it; I did the best I could. I dont trust a car salesman further than I can catch him with my wallet.

  • Buyer Beware - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

This car has been a huge disappointment: it looks sharp but is not mechanically sound. I purchased the car certified pre-owned just over a year ago with under 30K on the odometer. It has been a series of unending problems ever since: all interior windows must be cleaned every 3 to 4 weeks with rubbing alcohol to remove a greasy residue that continually builds up (dealer does not know the cause), the interior smells similar to a wet dog when it rains, the battery was replaced at 35K yet still occasionally dies, both rear tail light assemblies failed causing the tail lights to stop working, and several rattles developed in the dashboard. This is in addition to two recalls.

  • A Bargain At This Price - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I special ordered a black Limited with nav and black interior on Super Bowl Sunday, and just got it on Tuesday. Good luck getting all these features on any other car for $25,750, which is what I paid before tax, tag and title. The car hugs the road like a Mercedes coupe and looks a little like one, too. Gas mileage and smooth acceleration are top notch. I spend a lot of time in my car for work, so it is like a second office. Now that my car is this nice, I no longer enjoy going into my ACTUAL office. Note 1: pay the extra $ for the upgraded stereo and nav. The car looks much classier with the full color touchscreen. Note 2: you can make calls with the voice command.
