  • Great Car, too bad there have been so many recalls - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I bought this car 1 month ago with about 85,000 on it for $11,999. I love how it feels and the acceleration and braking are exceptional. I bought one with Black Interior/Exterior color. It has a very sharp look and it definitely makes you look twice. The black Exterior is metallic and sparkles. I do notice a fair amount of light scratches in the paint but it is only noticeable if you are looking very closely at it. I like the heated seats and the Satelite radio. The stereo system is okay, have heard better thou. There is a considerable amount of rattling noise from the passenger door and the passenger seat has more vibration from the road then it should. I have to re-adjust the seat to stop it from rattlein. I live where the roads are rough and the cars suspension does not ride well on them. Im going to replace the tires with ones that are not high performance. I hope that will soften the ride. My car has had 8 recalls and the last one was in April and has yet to be repaired by the dealer. They are waiting from Hyundai on instructions on what to replace. It is the STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM recall. The power assist could fail without warning and make it hard to steer the car. If you buy one of these cars make sure all recalls have been taken care of. Which one should do with any car they buy but exceptionally the Sonata. My car is one of the cars that was assembled in Alabamba. A large number of engines have metallic metal shavings in the engine that can cause it to seize up. I had mine checked and they say it is not affected but still warranty the engine up to 125,000 miles or 10 years. I love this car but do wish I would have checked for the recalls before I bought it.

  • Awesome car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

My mother bought a limited phantom black metallic with the nav and I fell in love with it so I bought a pearl white SE with the nav. I love the sporty model (SE) but still love the limited with the backup camera, leather seats and Infinity sound system so I just bought a venetian red limited as well. The insurance is reasonable and the car is just cool in every way. Could not be happier with my SE and limited.

  • 2011 Pearl White GLS - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Just traded in my old 1998 Honda Accord EX for the new 2011 Sonata GLS with the Navigation and upgraded stereo package. All I can say is what a great car so far! I have not driven a 4 cylinder in over 30 years and this car has plenty of pep and rides really nice. Pretty quiet compared to my old Accord, but still hear some road noise. For a large family sedan it rides and handles very nice. Still on my first tank of gas but the trip computer is showing my average at right around 30 mpg with mixed city and hi-way driving. Very comfortable car so far. Hope the quality holds up. The car looks nice and is a very, very good value even at retail sticker price.

  • Great bang for the buck - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have had this vehicle for over a month and around 2100 miles. Overall it is an exceptional vehicle for the money. I feel sorry for those that have the "pulling left" issue but I, fortunately, do not. I opted for a vehicle with the "standard package" which had some nice perks like the electric driver seat with lumbar support and the auto dimming mirror. The acceleration is very nice for a car of its size with a 4 cylinder engine. Would I buy it again? Yes no question, but I would probably opt for the 2.0L Turbo with Navigation because of the extra convenience of the nav and extra power on that engine. I think the reliability rating should be optional as I havent had the car very long.

  • Yes, still happy.. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

54000 miles and still happy. Cruise control button sometimes sticks.. Brakes are a bit catchy when cold but have good feel within minutes of driving. Great acceleration, lovely 6 speed gearbox, love the paddle shifts, nav, heater, a/c etc.. all work great. Overall I am happy with the car. Recalls are a bummer especially the last one but I am hoping that Hyundai come through as they have up to now.. Update from my last report: 65000 miles and all is well. My Sonata is performing as expected.., no problems to report. Update: 69000 miles, cold weather is here and I am reminded how well the heater/climate control works. Heats quickly, windows defrost quickly too.. still enjoying the car, no surprises, good car!

  • A work of art - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

You can easily see the difference between the 2009 and 2010 models...the exterior looks really sharp.

  • Sleek, Fun & Hot - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I love driving this car around. Sometimes I get distracted and miss my turn, but Im happy to just cruise. I used to drive a car with a V-6 engine, but this car is by no means poky. It has a noticeable delay when you "floor it," but makes up for it when it takes off.

  • Poor Quality - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Needs a redesign. Bumber can not clear sidewalk when parking head on. Exterior falls apart easily.

  • Glad I upgraded! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I just traded my 2010 Sonata for the 2011, and the difference is unbelievable. The car has cleaner lines, ECO mode, and I love the power lumbar feature. ItÂ’s amazing how much acceleration from a normally aspirated engine. My dealership experience was pleasant as well. I was also impressed with the fact that I can play music from my cell phone using the Bluetooth and MP-3 mode on the radio. Nice job Hyundai!

  • hyundai overall fail - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

within the first week of owning this vehicle parts started falling off. The interior is cheap and Ive had to have the fuel door replaced multiple times. Not only that but after maintaining my hyundai regularly it stalled our of no where (no check engine light, no oil light, no warning) and died. IT was towed to the local hyundai dealer where they said they had to jump it to get it into the service bay then stated they reved the engine and it died. Hyundai is now saying it is my fault for not maintaining the vehicle and they will not cover the cost of the engine. I am now completely with out a vehicle unless I pay over 8k for a brand new engine on a leased vehicle less than 2 years old.
