All in all, Im 16 months and 16K miles in. This car makes me smile every time I drive it. Engine was a little coarse at first and transmission seemed a little balky at first (no biggies, though) but latest engine/transmission flash makes things smooth as buttah! My only regret is that I ddint get one w/Nav but there are some after market kits coming available now.

  • Sonata SE with XM/NAV voice - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

This is the best Hyundai so far and I should know, this is my 6th Hyundai, the previous models owned being an Elantra wagon, two Santa Fes, Tiburon, and Entourage. Every model Hyundai I have owned has been reliable and well-built. The Sonata is all that plus superbly styled. Driving the Sonata is like sitting in an airplane cockpit with everything right at hand, plus, with the navigation system there is little need to look away from the road as everything--phone, XM stereo, iPod, DVD, and navigation is operable by voice command--amazing and fun! Acceleration is outstanding, handling taut, and fuel mileage incredible--average 42 mpg at 60 mph, 35 mpg at 70 mph.

  • not sporty, but great buy - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Engine and transmission are great. Ride can be noisy (thinks its the tires) and hard sometimes (se package), but mostly ok. Pack full of features, price is great. Car does not like to get pushed hard, steering doesnt have much feel. But for most regular driving is very good. Do recommend.

This is my first Hyundai and love it for the most part. The styling, comfort and gas mileage is my favorite parts of the car. I do not like the steering at highway speeds. Always correcting one way and the other way to just stay straight on the road. I also have a rattle in the glove box area I will have the dealer fix. I would like to see Hyundai recalibrate the steering and I would love this car.

Wow! This car not only looks fast, but with 200 HP and a set of paddle shifters, it goes fast! Just picked up this car for me and my teenage son on Memorial Day Weekend, and we cant stop driving it. People that see it cant believe its a Hyundai. We love the looks and styling. The seats are very comfortable, and the Dimension sound system ROCKS! SE model really grips the road. Glad we picked it up.

This is our second Hyundai Sonata. I purchased a 2004 Sonata. We have been very pleased with the 2004. Over 60,000 trouble free miles.

  • Wow! Fantastic Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

By far the best family car out there. Best fuel: 39 mpg or 6 L/100 km in hwy, 27 mpg or 8.5 L/100 km in city. I am getting about 33-34 mpg combined, with 65/35 hwy/city while always driving in ECO Mode. The car is amazingly smooth/quiet at hwy speeds of 110 km/h or 70 mph, and revs only 1950 rpm. Very sharp new design, large interior space, and huge trunk, very comfy leather seats, nice Bluetooth feature, great stereo, climate control, trip computer, nice smooth feeling of electronic steering in hwy/city driving. Currently have 500 miles or 800 km on Odo, but still havent fill up the tank yet. Will probably go around 850 km or 528 miles. Will also purchase Turbo version if fuel eco is similar.

  • Solid choice - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

From the very first test drive, I was sold. Im just really happy I drove all the competitors first to realize what a good choice I made. The car looks great inside and out. Smooth, quite and comfortable. Everythings standard equipment and the price, WOW! Up to $8000 less than the other name brands that are showing their age(dull and stodgy) no matter what trim level you get.

Fun to drive---has more power then you might think for a four cylinder. Good acceleration and rides smooth on well paved highways. A little rough on bumpy roads. Power front drivers seat is great-- -could use one for the passenger side. My wife wishes she could raise her seat.
