  • EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH PRODUCT - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I am the proud owner of a new 2011 Sonata Limited....Black with grey leather interior, sunroof, etc. Everything except the navigation system. I am amazed at how quiet this vehicle is. When sitting in a parking lot sometimes, just idling I cannot tell if the car is ON or not!! Rides nice and smooth. The looks of the car compete easily with Lexus, Acura, and some other more expensive cars. I love my new car.... I heard bad things about Hyundais years ago, and was a little reluctant to buy, but after reading reviews with Consumer Reports, and a few others, I was convinced that Hyundai did their "homework" to make their vehicles move up with their reputation.

Just drove the car home this afternoon, about 100 miles total. Took a very short test drive before I bought, but after spending about 11/2 hours behind the wheel today, have to say Im disappointed with the comfort level of the leather seats. Granted Ive been driving Toyota Avalons for the last 10 years, so I knew the comfort level would be a step down but the seat seemed rock hard the longer I was behind the wheel.

  • Happy with my 2011 2.0T Sonata - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

My first Hyundai, 43000 miles and its business as usual. No complaints, no problems. I service & maintain the car at Hyundais recommended intervals at the dealer. So far my Sonata 2.0T has been fast and reliable. I average around 24 mpg. I love the nav and all the gizmos. Happy!

  • What doesnt it do well? - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I love cars. Two GTOs, a G8 GT, Z3, 4 Hondas, a couple of Chevys, Murano, Mustang... even a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8...all in the last 4 years. But when the Sonata 2.0T came out, I had to try it. "Impressed" doesnt begin to describe my reaction to this car! For performance it has 274hp on 87 octane. For being green, it gets better mileage than small cars with 1/2 the horsepower (the Mazda 3 comes to mind). For safety, only the BMW 550i is its equal. Styling is niche-appropriate without being me-too. Features for the money, long a Hyundai hallmark, shows up in spades (Bluetooth, XM, power everything, keyless ignition, etc). Looks like a 100,000 mile/ 10 year match made in heaven!

  • Hyundai does it again - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

After owning various cars from several different manufactures I can say that this is one of the best looking and driving cars period. Hyundai has made some bold strides as of late and this car is a true testament to that. The one aspect of Hyundai I would criticize was their bland styling but with this new Sonata that goes out the window. Now when I see a Camry or an Accord on the street they just look boring and out dated next to the Sonata. You wont win many races with the 2.4 L engine but its more than adequate and w/35+ MPG on the highway you cant get a better power/mpg ratio.

  • Great Value - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I purchased my car in May and so far have no complaints. I have been accustomed to driving higher end cars, but have to admit that for the money spent on the Sonata vs. more expensive makes/models, in my opinion the Sonata is the best bang for the buck! Good gas mileage, plenty of pep, great looks, lots of bells and whistles. Overall a fantastic car for the money.

I purchased the SE about a month ago. So far i love the car. I got the Venetian Red with the Nav and Sunroof option. Every one asks me this is a Hyundai?? I looked at Ford, Chevy, Toyota and Nissan and for the options i got with it i would be paying close to 30k for them. I paided a little over 24. The 4 cyl has plenty of pep and getting around 29 mpg in mixed driving. you need to get the ipod cable for the ipod. they say that a regular USB cable works but it doesnt. i got the cable on eBay for 20 bucks cheaper that at the dealer.

  • AWESOME - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Absolutely love this car. Traded in a 2005 GX350L that I really liked but fell in love with the styling on this car. I am averaging 32-33 mpg combined city/highway. Have gotten up to 37 on all highway. One month in and loving it ! Love the bluetooth and push button start. Getting jealous looks from neighbors and friends. Bought the black on black metallic finish.

  • Worst Car I have Ever Owned - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Up until today, I would have told you I was pretty pleased with my Sonata. However, with 85K miles my engine is dead. Driving to work today, the engine started knocking, the check engine light came on, and about 5 seconds later the car just died (while I was driving.) I was fortunate not to be on the interstate, and was able to coast to a safe side road. I am the second owner, so the 100K warranty doesnt transfer to me. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care, and they said sorry, but what do you want me to do about it. The cost to replace the engine is $5700. I will now have a loan for my car, and a loan for my engine. I have read on other sites that the 2011 won Beware of the Clunker Award.

  • My first Hyundai-whats not to like? - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

My sister has owned two Hyundais, a Sonata and now an Azerra, which she loves. After reading so many glowing reviews on the new 2011 Sonata, I went to the dealer for a test drive, and really liked it. I am 64" and was surprised at all the leg and head room. I couldnt drive my 6 speed manual tranny 2007 Corvette due to medical reasons, and traded it in on this car. Going from an almost super car, I was very surprised I liked this car so much. I bought the automatic due to my physical restraints, and like its seamless shifting.
