  • Impressed with my 2011 SE - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Just picked up my SE and put 200 miles on so far. The car is exceptional , performance, comfort and style are unmatched for a car at this price range. I will update when I put more miles on the car.

  • Great Car, Great Value - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Have had my new Sonata for 1 month and put 2,500 miles on it. Am very satisfied with this car. This is my third Sonata, so was already sold on Hyundais reliability and excellent warranty. My experiences have been exceptional as has many others relayed here. My only complaint was with the tires. I felt that they sacrificed a little smoothness and ride quality in order to get superior gas mileage. I ended up trading my tires in on a set of General Altimax HP 225/60-16s. These tires were very highly rated on Tire Rack and I feel were well worth the extra $350 I paid out the door. Also, my speedometer is now correct, it was about 1 mph too fast before.

A stunning car. Period. Engineers take note of potential improvements. 1. Power seat should be std. 2. Tan interior stains VERY easily. 3. Bluetooth takes 5-7 minutes to download phone book EACH time. No cool. 4. Cant play MP4 format. 5. Oil filter cover broke first time. A swing away would work better than a clip out. 6. Some (typical) noise coming from rear suspension. Consider better shocks or more sound proofing.

  • So far , so good - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have had this car for 3 months and so far I am very happy with it. Like many posting here, I was hesitant to purchase a Hyundai having owned Hondas for the last 25 years. The styling, feature / function, quality and price sold me on this car. The only negative thing I can say so far is that once in a while when the car starts in fast idle I hear a slight rattle under the car. It lasts a short time and Ill need to see if maybe something isnt loose around the exhaust. No big deal and I can certainly live with it but its more of a curiosity right now. I also noticed that the MPG shown is reading about 10% higher than what I actually calculate during a fill-up.

  • Good Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Use: commuter Load: 3 person totaling ~650 lb, avg 6 ft Distance: ~360 Miles per week Road: NY/NJ 80% highway Comfort: Good fit, lots of room, seats could be better but strangely I (driver) feel more comfortable now than when I first bought it. Passengers have not complained. Ergonomics: Excellent. I only do not like trunk/gas release buttons. They should be lit or redesigned. Performance: Must watch your speed, car cruises at 90+. I drive hard and no body roll, under/over steer, break fatigue or other common problems. Manual is great, 3rd gear could be stronger. Entertainment: remember this is stock. I like it if you do not blast it.

  • A bit of a disappointment - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

With less than 350 miles on my new Sonata GLS, the negative outweighs the positive. I received my car with a defective passenger door latch making it hard to open and close the car. Next the car has interior rattles which is atypical of a new car for any price. The clincher was when I noticed that my cloth driver seat is already showing wear and is fraying around the seams! On a positive note, the car drives and steers well. But, I must wonder if this is typical, or I have received a lemon which Hyundai and my dealer will correct - AS IN REPLACE.

  • 4 months driving and still happy - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I have had my 2011 Sonata for 4 months now. Previously I had a 2003 Infiniti G35 which I loved but was totaled in wreck.I never thought I would own a mid level car again but hey times change. Who wants to have a $600 plus car payment anymore? Thought I would miss the performance of my G35 but found the Sonata to be quite adequate. I live in Atlanta and use my tiptonic shifter to race from stop light to stop light. Got to have some fun! Overall still happy.

  • Driving and riding experience - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

This 2011 Sonata Limited is my husbands car. Exterior is sporty and beautifully designed. Do like the turn signals on the side mirrors. However, very rough ride. It feels like I am in a tin can or a truck. Lot of road noise even after buying new Michelin tires the same day of purchase. Front windshield distortion. Passenger seat way too low. Passenger door sounds hollow and tinny, slight vibration, when pushed shut. Strong chemical smell in the car, gives me a headache."leather" seats low quality. Traded a good 2007 Camry, which was a well built car, for this. My 2008 Toyota Avalon is a far better car than this 2011 Sonata Limited. Would not recommend this car at all.

Ok this is my first new car, Im a 47 year old driver, and I consider myself a prudent consumer. I did alot of research. My issues with the car that made me write this review. The XM satellite. NO SiGNAL, called xm several times, still no signal. I dont want too blame the customer care but obviously they are not technicians. It made me thinking of the other problems I have with my car. Riding over potholes, not a very smooth ride, Not smooth at all, The other issue, the swaying too the left, ooo I cant stand it. I really dislike it at this moment. I wish I had more patience but i dont Im tired of dealing with shady Car people and customer service people who arent trained, Im PSSST

  • Not Bad for a $20K Car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I have 38K miles on the car...my lease ends in May 13. Overall, it has been a good car, although a bit on the boring side. Reliability has been excellent. I had to bring the car in for a recall early on during ownership, but it was a quick and painless process and Hyundai provided me with a $25 Visa gift card as an apology for the inconvenience of bringing the car in. The initial sales experience and all subsequent servicing at multiple Hyundai dealers have been outstanding. Hyundai seems to go out of its way to be friendly and efficient. Only issues are some cheap, hard plastic on the interior which squeak often over rough roads and the poor steering which is always off-center.
