  • Still evaluating but not bad - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I bought a SE with the Nav and Sun roof Package. The XM radio, Bluetooth, interior and exterior stying are Great. I dont like the traffic locater on the XM nav but the Nav screen and turn by turn is great. The venetian red gets a lot of Compliments and the MPG on Highway is great. City is about average but the car Has plenty of Room. 200 hp is ok but the Steering is Hard to get used too. Electronic assist needs improvement. The steering wheel Height is not good for taller or bigger guys. all in all not bad but still evaluating, 1500 miles so far.

If your looking for a fuel efficient full size car, this is it. We bought our Sonata last year based on consumer reviews and now have +17K miles on it. We just drove it on a 3000 mile tour of New England and averaged over 35 mpg with mostly highway driving, at 75 mph....close to 600 miles p/fill up. Truly amazing!!!! Even thru the hills of Vermont and New Hampshire, it had plenty of get up and go when I needed it. The combination of the direct fuel injection, the 6 spd tranny and the aerodynamics I believe is the key factor for the performance of this car. My wife has been able to achieve close to 30 MPG in suburban driving back and forth to work.

  • Sonata #2, Experience second to none - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

My wife and I simply love this car. This is a second Sonata for me (2002 LX), and its apparent the strides that Hyundai has made in quality. The mileage is tremendous, the ride is smooth and comfortable, and the feature set is impressive. Oh, and the Venetian Red is certainly a head-turner!

  • Impressive Vehicle! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I was looking to replace my faithful but aging Camry and test drove all of the usual suspects. This car in its base trim has everything I needed, but with the Popular Package it made it even more of a honey! The closest competitor was the Accord EX but the Sonata GLS has it beat hands down on styling, price, features, engine and fun. The fit and finish both inside and out is impressive. The car wants to run, too, as I find myself having to limit my speed. The controls are all logically laid out and easy to use (far better than the Accord) and even the base stereo system rocks! I loved my Toyota, but so far I really love this Sonata! Honda and Toyota beware!

  • Cheap Parts - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

The price is good on the vehicle but it has a lot of issues. I have had 4 recalls, including one on the engine. A lever in the starter will probably break because it;s made out of plastic. GET READY TO PAY A FORTUNE ON MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS!

  • Everything I expected - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have 2500 miles on the car. No rattles, no squeaks. Smooth, quiet. No flaws. Friend just bought a new infinti. So she says. "my car has push button start" yep." my car has bluetooth" yep." my car has heated leather seats " yep ." my car has top safety ratings " yep. My car cost $45k. Nope!

  • Awesome New Style - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

We purchased our Sonata SE in February, 2010. We absolutely love it. Everywhere we go, everyone seems to be staring at the vehicle. We purchased the 2011 Sonata sold at our dealership, so few people knew what is was. Our vehicle is Venetian Red. We get compliments on the vehicle everywhere we go. Some have mistaken it for a Lexus.

  • After 5,000 kms, this car is as close to perfect as.. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

It has been 3 mos. and 5,000 kms of pure excitement for me as I have put this car through everything imaginable. The mileage is amazing, about 47 MPG (Canadian) on the highways, in the city I get about 31 MPG (Canadian). The vehicle is quiet unless under hard acceleration. This is one of the smoothest cars I have ever owned and there is not even a glitch of a problem to be found on this vehicle. If you get one, get it fully loaded with the Turbo !

  • Great job but needs better packaging - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

This car is a head above its competition and has now set the bench mark. I am disappointed that the 6 speed manual is designated to the low bucks crowd. No reason for not being able to get a power sunroof and alloy wheels as a factory option on the GLS or make the 6 speed available on the SE. Other than this packaging issue Hyundai has done a great job with this car.

  • Excessive Road Noise - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

We test drove the GLS automatic last week. Loved the car with the exception of the excessive Road Noise. Did not know whether its due to the tires, lack of sound insulation, or both? Has no one else noticed how noisy it is? Driving 65 mph down the highway, I could not hear my Wife talking (maybe a good thing after all LOL), due to the Road Noise. Even at 35 mph in town, it was noticeable. Only our Honda Civic is worse, but then it has low-profile, Bridgestone (terrible) tires. My 2003 Toyota Sienna van is very quiet in comparison. Unfortunately, the road noise was a deal-breaker for me unless they come up with a remedy.
