This Year's Model Updates:

For 2007, Hyundai has shuffled the Sonata's trim levels. GLS replaces the previous GL moniker and Limited takes the place of LX. Hyundai has also introduced a new sporty SE trim. Later in the model year, a tire-pressure monitor and XM radio become standard across the line.

Pros:
  • Upscale look and feel, refined performance with V6, smooth ride, roomy cabin, standard stability control, attractive value and warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Steering somewhat vague, automatic transmissions are fussy in manual-shift mode, heated seats on the weak side.

  • Impressed by this car! - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I researched more than 10 cars over the last 8 months comparing gas mileage, saftey features, reliablity, price, and looks. The 2007 Hyundai Sonato won hands down over the other makes & models. There is simply more car for your dollar. It is safe, gets very good gas mileage for the V-6 and its size in SW Pa. (24 miles/gal+), it looks, feels, and drives like a luxury sedan! I am impressed thus far with the feel of the car - it is also fun to drive! And there is lots and lots of room in this car.

  • big car and economial to drive - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I have put over 11,000 miles on my new Sonata. I have not had any problems. If i say at or below 75 on the freeway, i can put over 500 miles on a tank of gas. It cruises at or above 80 easily and quietly though the gas milage drops to around 28 to 29. what more can you ask. roomy, quite, great gas milage for a full size car and a long warrenty so i dont have to worry about fixing anything unil i am ready to trade it in in about 4 to 5 years.

  • So far an excellent vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

We have driven Hondas and Toyotas for years, but when it came time to replace a 1993 Accord, we drove the "97" Accord, several Toyotas but kept going back to look at the Sonata. In the end we went for the Sonata because of the value for the dollar. Warranty, options and it just feels like a secure car. Fit and finish are on par with Honda and Toyota. The 4 cylinder is more than adequate for day-to-day driving and road trips with a family of four. Our first trip on the interstate with 3k on the engine still averaged 30 mpg. Not bad for a fresh engine. The final test will be to see how it handles a winter in the upper-midwest...

  • Cant belieive I bought it - and LOVE it - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I have been looking for about 6 months and have driven everything from an 04 Lexus ES, to every new 07 in the same class, including the hyped Camry and Accords (which are nice cars). After driving by the Hyundai dealer many times looking at others, I thought Id drive one. Wow. For about $8,000 less than a similar optioned Camry I drove off in the new black leather Platinum Edition and have no regrets. Guess I cant tell any more jokes about this company. They truly do make a fantastic car. If your looking for a new car, you owe it to your wallet to drive one of these. Either that or settle for a cloth interior and 4cyl. Accord or Camry and watch me wiz by in comfort and style!

  • Best Buy - 2007 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I bought the Sonata in December and although I have not driven it for too many miles I am totally convinced it was the best buy of all the mid size sedans I could have bought. Engine performance is excellent; acceleration is super and driving is quiet and responsive. Thus far I have not noticed any problems with the car as delivered.

  • Love it. except for the shimmy - 2007 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I love so many things about my new Sonata, but i am really puzzled by the violent shimmy I experience when I open the rear window while driving at highway speeds. It is scary and i wonder if others have experienced this crazy behavior and what I might do about it. Seems to me that this should not happen with such a nice car in every other respect. Any opinions or suggestions? JD

  • ACCORD OR SONATA? - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I look at the honda accord and i was ready to buy it till my coworker brought a 07 hyundai elantra and i was shocked at how nice it was inside and outside . enough to make me go check it out but when i got to the hyundai dealer i saw the sonata gls xm with a 4 speed auto triptonic with heated mirrors, am fm xm cd mp3, power winders, power mirrors, cruise, tlit, maplights, 6 airbags, and sunglass storage and remote keyless entry, plus the alarm, tire warning pressure all just for 18,445 dollars and by the timne i brought it it came to 19,245 dollars..for the accord i would had got a alot less things and no auto.. anyways i am more then happy with my buy and would advise anyone to buy it

  • This is Hyundai not Honda or Toyota! - 2007 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

It offers a lot more than what I expected. It drives really smooth and quite and spacious room front and back gives less tried for a long trip and everyday track with my kids or friends. I usually paying 28.5mpg an average but Ive got once for 30.8mpg its a awesome mpg for the size of the car. Wonderful design of interior and exterior it look as much as sharp enough and storng. It has a great acceleration on highway one of my friends says "it drives better than Lexus ES330!". I like the stereo sound system its dynamic sound. Sonata got #1 crash test from NHSTA too. I totally satisfied with this Sonata and truly truly recommand to everyone.

  • What a buy - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

I could not believe how well the Sonata drive, rides , and feel. I would not even look at a hyundai 10 years ago maybe not even 5 years for that maater. But with Camry and the Accord being out my price range, I test drove sonata and was shocking surpise it had as much horsepower and more safely features and a much much better warranty.I was able to get the sonata limited for less than I was going to pay for the base camry with icthing cloth seat.its a really great car to drive thanks Hoover Hyundai, ill see you in 3 years when i get my Azera

  • What a "steal" - 2007 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

After test driving the Camry and Accord, I was unable to find a $5,000. difference. I found the Sonata to be equal in most comparable aspects except perhaps mileage (17.26 mpg in city). I feel after purchasing my Sonata for $19,761. I can buy a lot of gas with the savings. The luxurious interior incl. leather, auto driver seat, multi use rear view mirror, arm rest console, automatic power door locks (need to be activated) and a HUGE trunk are my first impressions. Hyundais superior warranty is great for me and those who like to keep their cars a long time.
