  • Couldnt be happier - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I have owned the 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS for about 1.5 years now. Since I commute to work and school every day, I have put about 45k miles on the car for less than two years. So far, never had any problems with the car. Only went to the dealership for regular oil changes. Nothing has fallen apart or had issues mechanically. Maintanance costs were very affordable and staffs were super friendly. Been getting approximately 25~28 mpg for city and up to 38mpg for highway. Car is comfortable, picks speed up at the freeway pretty well. Overall, I give my car a 5 star. Previously, I have owned Hondas, Mercedes, Toyotas and Volkswagens, but I would have to say, I am very happy with my Hyundai.

  • Great Value! - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I cannot believe this much car for under $25,000(I have Limited w/Nav.) Dealer sold for way under invoice. Car is beautiful, rides well and my gas mileage is unbelievable. Id recommend the 2011 Sonata to anyone who appreciates a great value in a 4 door family sedan. Impressed with Hyundais quality and new designs. Researched and drove the Accord, Altima, Fusion, Camry, Mazda 6 and Malibu. Only the Altima came close to equaling Sonata overall.

Just turned my first 5000 miles on this car. I got the pearl white and everywhere I go my car gets the look from others. I even got a comment from the kid at the car wash! Averaging 30mpg between highway and city driving. Its pretty much fun to drive. Handles well, ready for my first service. Well reserve judgment until after my first trip to the service dealer.

  • New car - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

We just purchased this car a day ago, I now have 100+ miles on it and so far so good. The engine is unreal only a four cyl. but acts like a six or eight. Since it is so new I really dont Know about reliability yet hence the lower rating. The one thing I can say is it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. The car is outstanding so many standard options it takes awhile to get use to driving it. I keep a car a long time so I hope the reliability is there. It rides a little stiff but I think its because of the low profile tires. All in all you cant beat it for the money which by the way we got a great deal from Pecheles Hyundai.

  • Not Feeling It Anymore.. - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

30k update. The pulling problem is pretty severe. The tires began to cup some times ago and the ride is noisy. Took to dealer and they wanted me to pay a few hundred bucks for some work-around to address unadjustable camber. I refuse to pay out of pocket to fix anything on a car with such low mileage. MPG calculator is not accurate. Power window doesnt function at times. Will steer clear of hyundai next time and stick to toyota or honda. maybe even a ford or cadillac.

We are on Hyundai #7 now. What a difference since the first excel. Love my new sonata ltd with nav. I was really Leary of the 4 cylinder. Then I drove it. Went back and drove it again. I am absolutely amazed at the power, beauty, ease of use of all of my amenities. I recommend everyone drive one!

  • Doing well at 3,800+ miles - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

So far, the Sonata has been living up to most of my expectations. I bought a Pacific Blue Pearl w/ popular package. As I expected, the ride is between a Camry and Accord; not as floaty as a Camry and not as sporty as an Accord. The exterior design is better (in my opinion) than all the other midsized sedans out there right now. Interior cluster, layout is better also. The oil filter and drain plug position is great. I only hope that the carbon deposit issues found in direct injected engines that Audi, VW, and BMW have/had does not occur to the Sonata; time will tell. For $22,3xx.00 drive out, I believe this is the best bang for the buck right now.

  • 1 Year FollowUp - NY/NJ Driver (mixed hw/city) - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I am at my 1 year mark and ~ 15K miles. I have noticed no deterioration in performance. Have not been in shop other than 3 oil changes with my mechanic (I was told not to go by the book for oil changes, I am using synthetic and change every 4.5K instead of books 7.5K). I drive to work in a carpool, drive my 4 year old to day care and take it weekend shopping. No problems with inertia front or back. No problem with seat fabric or plastics.
