  • Love it but.... - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I purchased my 2011 Sonata in Jan. It is a comfortable car, great trunk space, runs well and looks great but...... after two months in my possession I noticed a small area on the trunk that is rusting. The area is very small on the passenger side of the trunk door above the brake light. On the driver side same thing but no rust just missing paint. I took it to dealership for repair (covered under warranty)and they gave me a 2011 Sonata loaner which I checked, of course, for the same problem and YES it did have issue. Before purchasing you may want to check for this manufacturers defect. Otherwise, love my car.

The car looks great- runs great for a 4 cylinder-plenty of power when needed- gas mileage average to date 31 - This is my third Hyundai and they get better each time-

  • A big improvement for Hyundai but just needs a few refinements - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

The fuel economy is good for a car with 275HP and the 22/33 MPG is accurate. The dual scroll turbo is almost lag-free. The 6sp is smooth and responsive and the paddles are fun. The electric steering is NOT refined. The car wanders and likes to follow the road camber. Handling is solid but the stock 18” tires are mediocre, and they are NOT suitable for snow. I needed winter tires. The seats are too hard and can get uncomfortable. The NAV unit is OK but frustrating at times. The voice recognition is OK, but inputting a destination by voice is hard. The disappointing Dimension system sounds muffled and tinny for AM/FM and XM and OK with USB or iphone. iPhone/USB media integration good

  • Welcome in the New Sonata - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

If you were having any reservations about what your next family sedan should be, let me help. This is far and away the absolute best of the best. The fit and finish is approaching that of vehicles costing thousands more. You have options that are standard that arent even available on the competition (heated front AND rear seats as an example). The motor is more than adequate and extremely fuel efficient. I predict this vehicle will become the most highly acclaimed vehicle in the segment. The facts are undeniable and the vehicle itself stirs emotion!

  • Superb car at great price - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

I bought this car 2 weeks back and have loved it since. I was in market for used A4, BMW 3 and C280 but when I test drove it I had no doubt which car I am buying. Hyundai has done this car right in all aspect ride, handling, engine and interior. Just go and test drive before you make an decision.

Smooth ride. Great acceleration. Very good on gas mileage. Drove from Seattle to New Orleans 2900 miles and averaged 32 miles per gallon. Stereo system is excellent. Great sound. XM is a real plus. Brakes are excellent. The bluetooth hands free is awesome. Much better than a headset. Car turns quickly and smoothly. Great car for the price ($500 under invoice).

  • A Hyundai? - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Yes, a Hyundai! Hyundai wasnt even on my radar, but while test driving a Toyota, I saw the new Sonatas on a lot. So, after dropping off the boring Camry, I stopped to look, test drove all three Sonata models, and bought the SE on the spot (liked the wheels and dual exhaust). Sharp looks, roomy (Im 64" and have plenty of leg and head room) and very well built. I used to sell Infinitis, and this cars build quality and standard features rival the G37 Sedan, and blows it away on looks and value (about $15k less!). Unless your ego is tied your cars badge, you wont go wrong here.

We just picked up the car last Thursday. And it is so awesome!! We are normally German car drivers but we had to get, we never in a million years thought we would own a Hyundai but this car is a lot of car for the price. We also test drove the Genesis, and we are going to buy one of those next!

  • Great car, hard to beat - 2011 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Whats not to like: I scored build quality a 9, because Ive owned Mercedes, BMW, MINI, many VWs and the quality is one notch less, barely. That said, I just sat in an 09 C- class and the Hyundai equals it. To get the most out of the 4 banger you must use your manual shift option-- especially in the mountains, but it makes it a must more involved driving experience.
