Last post 90 car I am buying. I traded in an Eclipse, because I wanted a car that was more reliable, but it was just as junky as the eclipse. I replaced every sensor and a $320 Fuel pump in the first year. Took Dodge dealer 2months to figure out the fuel pump problem. I bought a 84 Ford Crown Vic for $500 to get me around until the dodge was fixed. The Crown Vic never gave me a problem, so I tried to sell the Dodge, but I cant get what I owe on it. I hope it likes the barn Im going to store it in until I can sell the garbage. Be wise buy an old clunker itll get you further then the new junks without the payment. Dodge, Eclipse hater.

After three years of major repair bills Ive finally given up. Rack & pinion out at 60K and average repair bill around $2K per year. Now it has a mysterious starting problem that has put it in the shop for 4 weeks straight that the mechanics cant figure out. I bought another vehicle last week.

This was Intrepid #2. My first was a 95 and had a repeating front-end problem. Should have learned! My 99 Intrepid was the first new car I have ever purchased and about number 15 in vehicles owned. At 52K miles I spent over 5k to replace the engine. They said lack of required maint. I say bad oil sending unit. Brakes $700 Window motors replaced under warranty as well as both engine fans. Lots of road noise and dont dare roll down the back windows while you are moving. Dont buy

I was very happy with my car UNTIL I had to start replacing sensors and now my engine is gone. It seems that Ive taken to this car to have something repaired way to often! I have 85,000 on the car and have been told by several mechanics that they have heard of many problems with this engine and was suprised that my engine hadnt gone before now.

I love the looks of this sporty car..but it stops there...Brake problems, unknown wheelwell noise, road noise, door handle broke at 33000, a/c poor, gas mileage poor, paint sucks, fading peeling at 33000 miles, general poor overall body quality. Got it cheap...its true you get what you pay for...would not by another Intrepid

Bought car for $19000 had no problem for 6000 miles then recall twice.. at 15000 left rear window motor stopped working, at 21000 trunk lock wont open. 30500 car overheated and wont start. at 37000 just after the warranty was over speed sensor went bad $300.00 to fix. at 42000 the instrument panel light works sometimes. auto lock on left front door makes noise and get stuck 250.00 to fix. Ac stopped working at 45000 500.00 to fix. now at 52000 the oil light comes on after at idle. dealer wants 1000.00 to fix problems. Selling this car. First American car in the last 25 years I bought. But never again I sold my domestic cars stock also. stay with Honda, Toyota, Mazda.

This vehicle has very unreliable. Numerous repairs include computer, brakes, windows, windshield wipers, and transmission. The vehicle has a pronounced pull to the left, which despite endless efforts to eliminate, cannot be corrected. Getting into and exiting the car is very difficult for a six footer due to the low head clearance. In summary the car is long on style and short on substsance. It full of 10 cent parts.

2.7L engine has a knock and needs to be replaced. Mechanic thinks its a bad rod/wristpin. Air conditioning wont hold freon and after $1200 in parts and labor I give up. Brakes required every 30,000 miles, power windows constantly need repair. Resale on this POS is so bad that I owe 2X what its worth. I wish id spent the extra couple of grand on a Honda.

  • Get an Accord instead, youll be happier - 1999 Dodge Intrepid

I bought this in June 99, it was their demo, a few minor problems at the beginning then the noises coming from the rear, in the end dealer told me he would sue me if I wouldnt leave them alone. I learnt a very expensive lesson take my advice buy a Accord or Camery for a few thousand more youll be happier in the long run. I will admit that Chrysler makes nice looking cars but they lack the engineering to real make this a quality car. Before this car I always bought domestic because I believed that the domestic cars were just as good as japanese and german cars, I know better know.
