  • great driving - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Ive driven about 600 miles in my V6, half freeway, half city. So far its been great. Lots of pep, looks beautiful, feels like a substantial car while maintaining a nimble feel. Ive gotten 26 on the highway and 21 in the city. Once I get my aftermarket leather itll be perfect.

Seats are stiff. Stereo hard to read like trying to read your cell phone display when you are outside. Tailgate swings sideways... inconvienent if someone parks behind you. The bass in the radio vibrates when only set at a level "2". Radio sound is so so. Gas mileage is 23 mpg overall. Interior sides scuff VERY easily. I wish the passenger seat folded flat to hold an 8 ft ladder. Radio controls on the steering wheel should be standard.

  • It will get you to where you need to go but not much else - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Ive owned my RAV 4 for 5 years now and its the 3rd Toyota Ive owned (91 celica and 00 celica being the others). All my toyotas have been really great on quality. I bought this RAV 4 because of it being more practical than my 2000 toyota celica I traded it in for. The RAV 4 can get me through the midwestern snow storms without much problems (big problem with my celica). It gets great gas milage for a SUV but the RAV 4 is pretty vanilla. Not really exciting to drive. It will get me to where I need to go but thats about it.

  • Good yuppie car - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Excellent car in lieu of buying a comparable 4 door sedan. Shorter but roomier than Camry (thus easier to park). More utility (available 4 wheel drive) and younger persona than a Camry but close in price. Fills niche for people who want a reliable 5 passenger, fun to drive car with extra cargo room. No reason to get a 4 door sedan when a RAV4 is an option.

  • Best vehicle we have had. - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Love the car. Gets us through the snow. Gas mileage is better than we could expect for being called a "truck". Stay with the higher rated Ethanol gas (manual states tested). We have on occasion had to fill up with the regular brands. Expensive!! Had a 1995 Altima before. It got us 100km more on ethanol. This vehicle gets us 100kms more than the Altima on a fill-up. (Both same size of tank.) Averaged 32 mpg on a trip that had freeway and city driving. Original tires were 17 inch all seasons. Very stiff ride. Felt all the bumps in the road. When needing snow tires, we called around and found out you could put on 16 inch tires. Saved us a lot of money, and, have a smoother ride.

Handles and responds like a car, but has the feel of an SUV. Great to drive.

  • Wow! - 2006 Toyota RAV4

I test drove a lot of SUVs and this is the one that rang my bells! This gets great gas mileage and is one with the road. It is truly a pleasure to drive.

engine is great, mpg is fantastic for an suv on the highway. Ride is better than any suv Ive been in. Plenty of storage for gear. Very quiet for an suv and scoots up steep hills as well as a sedan and small sports car. Will wait till winter to see what it does in snow. Only problem is that there is no satellite connectivity - have to wait for aftermarket dash fit kit to swap out for NAV/CD/SAT radio.
