This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.

Pros:
  • Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.

My husband bought this car for commuting to his job -100 miles one way. He gets approximately 41 mpg. I drive a Honda Odyssey around town, but I enjoy getting my turn with the Prius occasionally. The car is very roomy and the navigation has been very easy to figure out. It seems to have plenty of pick-up when needed. I find driving the Prius to be a peaceful experience, much more relaxing than the internal combustion engine.

I have had my Prius for 2 months and I love driving the car. I am averaging about 42 mpg for the first 3,000 miles. This is my first Toyota and the quality of the car is great.

My 2007 Prius has been a joy to drive. It has met my expectations & then some. I especially enjoy the dynamic brake that can be manually controlled to reduce the wear on the mechanical braking system & improve gas mileage.I hope to buy an all electric car someday, but in the mean time my Prius is my pride & joy.

The Toyota Prius is like the teachers pet from school. Reliable, dependable, unoffensive, well-balance, smart, and always willing to satisfy. What is he not? Not overly exciting, dresses a little weird, and gets picked on by bigger kids. However, in the end he ends up being your best friend.

  • Someone if finally getting it right! - 2007 Toyota Prius

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our Prius. It is comfortable, fun to drive and so far very reliable. I just wish Toyota or someone made a small pickup hybrid that got 40-50 mpg! We have tracked fuel economy and found that in the winter months we averaged 48 mpg and the rest of the year it is 52 mpg. That is 70% city driving and the rest is highway. The lower gas mileage during the winter is a combination of cold air AND winter gasoline formulation, which means that ALL gasoline cars gets less mpg in winter, not just the Prius.

  • Very Impressive - 2007 Toyota Prius

I have owned my 07 Prius for ten days. It is very easy to maneuver on road and parking lot. Turning corners is just a piece of cake. Ride is comfortable and quiet. Love the backup camera and it really works. Love to push a button to start the engine. I dont need to touch my key in order to get into the car, drive, park, and close the doors. The most interesting thing is watching the trip computer telling you engine running conditions and fuel economy. For the first tank of gas, I got 50 MPG (filled 9.0 gal at 450 miles) with 80% city miles. Very impressive! Very happy with my purchase.

  • Wow! - 2007 Toyota Prius

I just bought my Prius 4 days ago and I love it. Traded an Infiniti FX35 which I also loved, had a hard time giving up, but wanted the increased gas mileage. No disappointment there! Mileage was 43 mpg on the way home from the dealership. Last trip was 49.8 in mixed city and freeway. I read the reviews and now I understand what people were saying about making a game of how much mileage you can squeeze out. The car is also very cute and the gadgets are great - love the bluetooth and navigation. So far everything has been easy to figure out and set up, although the books are basically useless. Better just to experiment on your own. Overall very happy so far.

I just purchased my car and have had it for a little over a week now. I LOVE it - its a zippy little car and you cant beat the gas mileage (47mpg)! Ive filled petrol 1x so far, and the pump shut off after taking about 5 gallons. When I turned the car on however, the gauge did not bump up to the 10 bar max... I find that strange.

We filled up for the first time today. Change back from a $20. As the price of gas goes up I am sure we made the right choice. I love sitting at a traffic light and the gas engine is off.

  • I LOVE MY PRIUS - 2007 Toyota Prius

Ive had my Prius for about two months now and I dont know how I ever lived without it! I do a lot of driving for work and needless to say, the gas mileage is great (although I usually average around 45-46 mpg) but the extra features like bluetooth, backup camera, mp3 jack, navigation, and in-dash cd changer are what I really love the most about it. The interior is really well designed too with lots of compartments and a cool dash that makes it feel kind of like youre driving your own spaceship!
