Overview & Reviews
The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.
- Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.

Like This Car - 2007 Toyota Prius
By C&C - December 10 - 10:33 amMy husband bought this car for commuting to his job -100 miles one way. He gets approximately 41 mpg. I drive a Honda Odyssey around town, but I enjoy getting my turn with the Prius occasionally. The car is very roomy and the navigation has been very easy to figure out. It seems to have plenty of pick-up when needed. I find driving the Prius to be a peaceful experience, much more relaxing than the internal combustion engine.

Great commuter car - 2007 Toyota Prius
By Maine driver - March 25 - 1:30 amI purchased my Prius new during the warm weather in Maine. Gas mileage is great in temps above 50 degrees, especially on the winding hilly back roads of Maine (50 mpg). During short trips in winter it drops to 30 mpg. Original tires are quiet and help gas mileage but lasted 21K. I chose to go with a different but harder tire-which should last longer but has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased gas mileage to 30-45 mpg. Highway driving averages 42-43 mpg but this auto is very light weight and stability is compromised when driving in windy conditions or when speed reaches above 80mph. The cost to maintain this auto is above average.

2007 Touring - 2007 Toyota Prius
By TJ - December 12 - 7:56 pmJust purchased an original owner, 2007 Touring 22k miles, with Package 5. The OEM Bridgestone Turanzas were just about worn out and I replaced them with Michelin Primacys 195/55/16. There are not many tire options with the 16 inch wheels on the touring. Car handles great and is very quiet. Upgraded sound system with 9 speakers and XM is fantastic.

Love My Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius
By NJ Driver - June 11 - 10:53 amI bought my Prius used from a limo company. Got a great deal because they took good care of it. I am 65 and 240 lbs. and fit fine. Its a great car and I have a lot of fun with it. The pickup is good for a 4 cylinder and better when Premium gas is used. Gotta love it when I fill up the tank with premium for $25 and drive 450 miles. My wife owns a Lexus SUV and we take my car more often than hers. Id buy another one but a new one next time.

Holy Crap! - 2007 Toyota Prius
By Sapper - August 5 - 11:36 amI just moved to El Paso. My work commute is about 60 miles round trip daily. Needless to say my old car was killing me. I read up on the Prius. I have read comments that they do not live up to the EPA standards of 51 and 60 mpg. I can tell you this, part of that is based on the type of area you drive and how you drive. Most people who are complaining about bad mileage numbers are not driving the prius to maximise the fuel economy. You need to use cruise control as much as possible. Set it for 55 mph to get the most mileage and still get where your going. Use "pulse and glide" in the city!

New Prius a Great Buy - 2007 Toyota Prius
By DWood - July 1 - 1:33 pmJust got a 2007 Prius. Back seats hard & bench like. Wouldnt recommend long drive for passengers in back of this car. Back seats fold down for extra storage, its just right for my sweetie and me to take trips with all our gear, and fewer stops to refuel! Handles very well, fairly quiet, shift between the electric motor and gas engine not noticable at all, good pick up for passsing. Nice storage in 2 gloveboxes & center console. Holds 2 cups, large or small. Dash equip easy to read and operate, cruise control a bit awkward, under the right side of steering wheel. Overall, extremely happy with this car.

Used 2007 Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius
By hadrian - May 12 - 3:42 amPurchased used in 2/12 for $ 10,300.with 66k. Have driven for 1 year, now have 80k on vehicle. Has performed well in daily commute avg 40-43 mpg 30 mile round trip daily. Maint. costs very low, replaced frt pads, air filter and changed oil twice; thats it. Put snows on front and performs okay in up to 4" of plowed snow. Beige interior not best looking and shows dirt and/or stains; get something darker. Overall no regrets; will have a long time; prob give to daughter for longer commute out of town for two yr masters.

Prius beats all other hybrid sedans - 2007 Toyota Prius
By mdavis1969 - February 17 - 1:33 amIt is very unusual to find a car that you feel comfortable in the first day you start to drive it. The Prius is an exception. If you like advanced features like you may find expensive vehicles, and you want to be save money on fuel, the Prius is probably a good bet. I test drove the Prius and the Honda Civic. On my initial test drive, the Prius feels like a concept car. It is a little intimidating with all of the gadgets, displays, and unique things the Prius has. The Civic feels more like a normal car, but it does have the technological details the Prius does. In addition, the Civic depreciates in the real world much faster. The Prius is also much more fuel efficient. The Prius wins!

Great Car, Decent MPG - 2007 Toyota Prius
By rwb9900 - January 12 - 12:43 amI really like it. I would not buy from Sun Toyota though. MPG are good but a far cry from what they tell you it will be.

Prius or Civic Hybrid or a Honda Insight ? - 2007 Toyota Prius
By fyler - December 17 - 6:02 amIf you reading this, chances are, you are considering a hybrid and you are torn between a Prius, Civic Hybrid and a Honda Insight. Get the Prius. I used to be a Civic Hybrid and an Insight owner, the Honda IMA hybrid system is the worst and their MPG sucks. Before I get my Prius I owned a 2001 Insight (IMA light showed up at 78K mile), I also tried 2005, 2006 and 2008 Civic Hybrid and the MPG was 38 MPG at the best and again IMA battery issues before 100K miles. The 2008 Civic Hybrid interiors are comfier than the Prius (at least for me) but the space on the Prius is awesome if you haul stuff. The Prius Hybrid system is VERY reliable. The Prius is similar to a Camry or an Accord.
