Overview & Reviews
Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.
- Superb comfort, wide variety of safety and luxury features, balanced ride and handling characteristics, available all-wheel drive.
- Handling lacks true sport sedan precision, expensive optional equipment, turbo lag and torque steer in the T5 model.

A Realistic Review - 2004 Volvo S60
By 1st European Car - July 28 - 2:23 pmI bought this car looking for an AWD sedan that was good on gas, fun to drive and affordable. After a long search, I settled on the Volvo. Ive probably read over 15 editorial reviews, scoured consumer feedback, etc. on this car, and owned it for about a week now, so here is the deal. Reviewers say this car is not the most luxurious, not the fastest nor has the best design. However, it does do all of these things very well, so I think its the best value of any domestic or Euro sedan. Its extremely comfortable, fast enough and holds the road well, without the hefty price tag of a BMW or Lexus. I love this car, and received a lot of compliments in the short time Ive owned it.

2004 Volvo S60 - A Vehicle with Class - 2004 Volvo S60
By CLASI LADY - July 23 - 10:00 amSo far, this vehicle is not only comfortable, the ride is so smooth, you do not even feel the road. The sound system quality has greatly improved and the standard options add a great deal of value to not only the vehicle but to your insurance premium. The relocation of the mirror switches is a God send. The look and feel of the vehicle whether admiring it while parked or while driving in it, shows a great deal of class. This has been one of the best vehicle purchases I have made so far.

Too Much Fun for Short Trips - 2004 Volvo S60
By T5A-S60R - July 11 - 2:00 amThe S60R is clearly the best undercover performance car Ive ever driven. I traded my Volvo T5 for it just after it was released in April 2003. Its power is exhilerating and it has a lot of "pedal" in gears 3 through 6.

Still Great After 75 Thousand Miles - 2004 Volvo S60
By KPboy - July 1 - 1:50 pmI got this S60 hoping it would be reliable, and it hasnt let me down. Year after year it has been problem free. After almost 6 full years of service, it has been the best car I have ever owned. I even live in a mountainous region with constant hill driving and braking, and the S60 manages quite nicely. The only money I have spent on this car since purchase has been for the regular maintenance intervals. If you are looking for something rock solid when it comes to safety and reliability, then this one is the absolute best. I would know, ive had 2 benzes, a BMW and an Audi. This one impresses me more than any of those.

DON - 2004 Volvo S60
By none123 - June 11 - 10:00 amThe second day I owned the car I got stuck! Volvo has still not found the problem (2 months later). Certainly, things like car trouble will happen. But the truly concerning issue is the TERRIBLE customer service I have received from the dealership. (Another interesting defect I found was that the interior lights dim when the hazard warning lights flash...good luck looking at map while you are stopped by the side of the road.) My advice...dont make the same mistake I made. Spend a little more and buy a Mercedes.

Not Your Fathers Volvo - 2004 Volvo S60
By sesvs43 - May 29 - 2:00 amWithout a doubt this is the best sports sedan for the price, hands down. With all factors considered (performance, comfort, quality, reliability, technology and cost of insurance), there is not a luxary sports sedan on the road that can touch it for the money. I have previously owned BMW and Mercedes sport sedans. While BMW and Mercedes provide a better car in some areas, when you factor in the whole package, these cars cost thousands (10-20K) more to outdo the S60R. From a performance standpoint, go ahead and drive one, it will leave non high- performance V8s and most 6s staring at the S60 Rs tail-lights. Its a wolf in sheeps clothing!

My Comfort Sport Car - 2004 Volvo S60
By GAZ - May 24 - 2:00 amOverall a fine Sports sedan. Very comfortable drivers power seat, lots of room in front/great interior. Plenty of power ( must get the Turbo), to move on to highways safely, and pass when needed. Car looks sleek, and love the leather and the sunroof. I enjoy driving this car. With airbags and Antilock breaks--its a VolVo--I feel as safe as one can be in a Sports sedan

Glorified Yugo - 2004 Volvo S60
By Doug - May 12 - 3:56 amI can agree with the safety and reliability written about this car. The comfort is just marginal. What destroys this car is the turning radius! The car is slow and the gas mileage is average. The interior is sooo small. I have a child seat in the back and it takes over the backseat! Being 62" is a real problem with the interior size. Overall, I would never get another Volvo!

Love Car, No So Dealer - 2004 Volvo S60
By MAE - April 12 - 12:46 amI adore this car, its comfortable and sporty and I got all the bells & whistles under dealer invoice because I bought a fleet model off the floor. My only complaint is my "sneaky" dealership in Summit NJ and added fee for the extended warranty which I thought was included w/a certified pre- owned. I didnt catch it until too late - anyone else have this experience???
