This Year's Model Updates:

The four-door Double Cab joins the 2004 Toyota Tundra lineup. The Double Cab rides on an extended wheelbase of 140.5 inches, and features a cargo bed equal in length to the Access Cab's while gaining 3.5 inches of depth.

Pros:
  • Smooth and refined V8, Toyota build quality and reliability, easy maneuverability in urban areas, roomy Double Cab configuration.
Cons:
  • Lacks serious brawn for towing and hauling, uncomfortable front seats, cramped rear seat in Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

  • The Best Truck for the Buck ! ! ! - 2004 Toyota Tundra

With the moonroof and all the windows open (including the back window) I feel as though Im in a convertible. Awesome! Great stereo, fun to drive. Ive owned many GM products and this far out-shines them in value and reliability. Far fewer problems. American vehicles (Ford & GM) have a lot more features than Toyota. However, quality and workmanship of the Toyota product is superior to American vehicles.

Bought this truck right off the lot in 2004. It was my DREAM truck. For years I watched waited and prayed that one day it would happen and it DID ! I think one of the sleekest design moves that Toyota did with Tubdra that year is the rear window that amazingly to this day I am still getting comments about. Goes all the way down !!! I love the way ppl are freaked out by this, in addition to this day ppl are still wanting to buy my truck. My final word I have had a very hard time coming to the decision untill this year which my mechanic helped me with I going to KEEP HER !!! My next DREAM VEHICLE is Toyota ( LAND CRUSIER) ...YES Go drive one today !

I have only had my new double cab for a week, but I love it. Its like having a luxury SUV with the convienience of a truck. I loved my double cab Tacoma, and this Tundra...it sure does turn some heads on the road.

Since I have had my truck I have extremely pleased, but only had one problem; after hitting a curb, the rear differentials gears apparently got strained from that and the bent and cracked.

Just bought our truck on March 31, 2004. That makes it about a week old to us. It really has a smooth ride. We are enjoying it tremendously. The moonroof and the sliding rear window kind of reminds us of our Jeep Wrangler.

THE ONLY BAD THING IS THE GAS TANK DOESNT HAVE A LOCK. MY OLD TOYOTA TRUCK, TO GET TO THE GAS TANK YOU HAD TO UNLOCK IT WITH THE KEY. I FELT THAT WAS SAFER, THAN I KNEW, WHEN I LEFT WORK I STILL HAD MY GAS THAT I CAME TO WORK WITH. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

My Toyota Tundra has been the BEST Vehicle I have ever owned!!!! Ford, Chevy or Dodge can not hold a candle to its performance, workmanship and above all its reliability. I have owned Ford Chevy and Dodge and I am sorry to say that they have a long way to go before they can produce a vehicle that will not fall apart with in a few years. Let me make it clear, I DO NOT ABUSE my vehicles, I guess all Im trying to say is that our domestic trucks may be beautiful machines but they just dont hold up!! Sorry for being so honest. Im just sharing my experience as a consumer.
