This Year's Model Updates:

The four-door Double Cab joins the 2004 Toyota Tundra lineup. The Double Cab rides on an extended wheelbase of 140.5 inches, and features a cargo bed equal in length to the Access Cab's while gaining 3.5 inches of depth.

Pros:
  • Smooth and refined V8, Toyota build quality and reliability, easy maneuverability in urban areas, roomy Double Cab configuration.
Cons:
  • Lacks serious brawn for towing and hauling, uncomfortable front seats, cramped rear seat in Access Cab, chintzy interior trimmings.

I had initially decided to buy the Tundra Access Cab, but after seeing the first double cab on the highway, I decided I wanted to get the extra doors. Im glad I did. A lot of power and comfort and the reliability of a Toyota.

  • From Access cab to Double cab - 2004 Toyota Tundra

In July 2003 we traded an 02 Accord EX-L for an 03 Tundra Access cab. Our children in car seats would just barely fit and the back of the rear seat was almost straight up. Last July the 4X4 03 had 5500 miles and listed for $30,300. We traded for a 2X2 04 double cab that listed for $29,600 and paid $4100 out the door. The dealer put about $24,000 in our old truck and so far still has it on their lot (over 5 months) So far I do not miss the 4X4 and could not be better satisfied. The truck is quiet, smooth and tough. There is plenty of bed space as well as rear seat room. The windshield wiper motor is too loud and the air direction controls seem kinda clunky. Otherwise no complaints.

I have owned chevy c-10s, ford f-150 and f-250s and Dodge Powerwagons and this is by far the best truck i have driven. I get compliments at almost every corner and all valets love to park it.

Nothing better than a truck that holds its resale value better than any other and drives better than a luxury car. None of the other half tons can even compared no wonder toyota beats them all. Not to mention its made in the USA

Very roomy, quick, and good looking truck. My gas mileage seems to always be around 16 mpg. Very smooth ride. I feel its the best truck out of all the top selling trucks. This is a truck I will keep for a while.

I really enjoy the handling and feel of this truck. It rides very smooth and takes bumps like a champ. Very roomy on the inside (reason we got it) everyone is comfortable in the both the front and back. Overall its just an awesome truck. The only negative is it does like gas but if you want economy maybe you shouldnt look at full size trucks their all pretty much the same on gas.

I am a tall man. I found that in the passenger side in the front seat there is an obstruction where my left foot would usually set. I usually drive so no real biggie. Very good aceleration all be it the foot feed is a little quick.(owned a ford)

THE CHANGES FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR MAKE IT MORE THAN WORTH IT AND THE FACT IT OUT DOES THE "NEW" FORD F150 IN ALMOST EVERY CATAGORY DOESNT HURT EITHER.

Very comfortable ride, lots of room both front and back. Makes the trip to and from work enjoyable. A truck rugged enough to put through the mud in the morning then clean it up and its stylish enough for a wedding in the afternoon.
