This Year's Model Updates:

The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

  • Luv my Van! - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I love having such a safe vehicle. I wasnt in the market per se for a van but the safety ratings sold me. I have a small child and her well-being is #1. I also was very impressed w/ the vans handling in the snow. My van out performed my husbands Silverado 1500! We were both in shock. Overall my van is safe, beautiful and reliable. I know it will last me far beyond my car payments. If you dont mind the initial teasing of being called a soccer mom, this is the vehicle to have.

I purchased my van to replace a small car. The Sienna has been the best car purchase I have ever made. It is also the 28th car I have owned.

We love our car. The space is amazing. The features are so much fun. I feel as if I am driving on air. My 6 year old is in heaven. I feel like the four of us each have our own space. The is so much storage. With kids it allows for a place for everything. We really love the headrest DVDs. We cannot wait to go on a road trip. This is our second Toyota. We had a Highlander previously, and loved it. The Sienna is even better. Way to go Toyota! This is luxury in a family car.

  • A very good, if somewhat "vanilla", van - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Good, but not perfect by any means. Having come from a 2002 Honda Odyssey, I immediately noticed several shortcomings in the Sienna. The Honda engine was much more powerful, especially at takeoff. Furthermore, the Honda had power doors on BOTH sides, instead of just the right side. However, my transmission went out on my Honda after 70,000 miles so Ill gladly trade some power and a powered sliding door for better dependability. However, it just seems somewhat less "advanced" than my 2002 Odyssey did. If the Odyssey is the hot cheerleader who may love you one day, only to leave you for someone else the next, the Sienna is the tried and true girl next door who you can count on to be there.

  • Sienna LE 06 pkg 4 - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Great and very accessible features for a family of 4 or more. Handles very well. Owned a dodge van before and there is no comparison in quality and reliability. Toyota stands behind their product.

Great minivan, gas mileage is not as good as I expected. I average about 17 mpg around home in the suburbs.

Even allowing for the "new car euphoria" the Sienna just performs well in almost all respects. My wife is very impressed, and to her a car is usually just a car. Great ride, lots of nice features, and the gas mileage is acceptable for a vehicle this size and weight.

  • Not a minivan gal till now - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I have the Sienna LE AWD. My mileage is not the best compared to the LE, but I also take my van places most dont attempt. Having AWD I feel much more comfortable with my sons friends and their moms out in the woods, or in the snow, or on sand!! Its smooth, fun and safe to drive. I was disappointed with the fact that there was not any bargaining room with the cost - I was told that only the LE, I could have bargained with. I went from driving small cars to now a vehicle I swore Id never drive (minivan). I love it, and my son really does. And gosh - hes now extremely safe. Thank you Toyota.

  • Nice Ride - 2006 Toyota Sienna

After 5 months and 7500 miles of driving, I have a pretty good feel for the Sienna. Its a nice ride! After several trips to Las Vegas from LA fully loaded, it didnt even break a sweat going up the Baker grade, even with the AC going. The real test of a nice ride is how you feel after a long drive and I never felt any fatigue at all. Its very roomy inside. Able to throw lots of people and gear inside with room to spare.

  • Love Our Sienna! - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I had to turn in my company vehicle which was a Ford Freestar and couldnt get another one so we needed a van. Once you have one you cant live without it, I found, very much to my surprise. So we traded my wifes Camry Solara for a Toyota Sienna (her idea!). We tried out a Honda EX-L (Very close competitor, better back seat, but bumpier ride.) and the Hyundai Entourage (Watch out Toyota and Honda, these guys mean business, great van at a great price, better ride than the Honda). It rides like a luxury car. The interior is extremely comfortable. Heated seats, MP3 capable stereo, aux jack, power doors, storage, reconfig options, all great. We bought it to last 10 years and I bet it does.
