This Year's Model Updates:

The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

  • Makes driving a dream - 2006 Toyota Sienna

The Toyota Sienna is a wonderful vehicle to drive, and so comfortable. The telescope wheel, the sound system, the drop down table center front, and the ability to fold second row and stow the 3rd row makes it so handy when hauling needs. There are also so many "pockets" for a number of things to stow, like side arm rests that lift and are adjustable, map pockets, drink holders specially formed for soda or water bottles, I could go on and on. What a great vehicle. My husband is handicapped, and he is so comfortable in our new Sienna. Try it, youll love it!

  • Sienna is nice, but Sequoia cooler - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We bought our 2006 Sienna in May 2006 to help accommodate and transport our growing family. It seemed like the logical solution for a growing family. Minivans are comfortable, and relatively stylish, and supposed to have reasonable fuel economy, right? - but more on that later. We did the usual comparison between the Odyssey and the Sienna. We liked both, but felt that the Sienna was more refined and had a few more amenities. If the Odyssey had a telescoping steering wheel avalable in 2006, we would have bought that, but my wife found that the steering wheel was too far away at her seated driving position. Very refined. Comfortable road handling. Quiet.

  • Sienna transmission problem - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

2 major problems within 1600 miles: A. Side airbag defect due to exposed wires. Driver seat had to be replaced B. Transmission failed while merging on the freeway - almost got rear-ended. Was very lucky to survive. Dont buy into Toyotas hype. This is my last toyota!

  • Do not buy AWD. Run flat tire nightmare! - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

The run flat tires on this vehicle wore out after 12,000 miles. Replacement tires were $300.00 each, which toyota did not have in stock. Forced to install regular tires. There is no spare tire for this vehicle and Toyota wants $700.00 to install a donut spare kit behind the third row seat, rendering it unfoldable.Toyota refuses to make good on this problem. The fwd has a spare tire mounted underneath. There is no room for it on the all wheel drive version.

  • Sienna opinion - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Drove the Sienna from Indiana to S.Carolina. Ride is excellent. Mileage was not as good as expected (21 mpg on road). Seems to be underpowered (shifted a lot going up even small hills). A lot more engine noise than expected. All in all reasonably satisfied.

  • Sienna is Best - 2006 Toyota Sienna

The Sienna gives a very smooth and comfotable ride. It handles great. Gas milage is comparable with other minivans. It is very dependable and is absolutely great for the family. Everybody can get in and out very easily.

  • Excellent car with TONS of useful gadgets - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We love this car with lots of space and extremely smooth run. It also has lots of cool gadgets - if you take a fully loaded car with top package, it comes with excellent working bluetooth connection, 110 v power supply, power doors, auto light on/off. It is a pleasure to drive this vehicle.

  • Week 1 review. - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I know this might seem useless, but for someone shopping, that might want initial reaction ,here it is. I must note, I did not test drive the Honda. No others seem to be in the same class as these 2, so I would not have wasted my time. Plush and quiet ride. I LOVE the new Optronic gauges, ala Lexus! Nice touch!! Vehicle delivers a solid ride. Nice and firm through turns. We went with LE package #4. If you want rear DVD player, dont pay $1300+, when you can go to Best Buy and have nicer one installed for $800. 3rd row seats fold fairly easy, but lots of room with them up for groceries etc. So far so good. Overall, love it! Never say never, mini-van haters!!!

  • May be my favorite vehicle yet! - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Ive only had my 2006 Sienna for three days but already LOVE IT! I traded in a 2002 Acura MDX that I loved so was worried going to a "van" again. (Owned a Chrysler Sport Mini-Van back in 1996) We own a Lexus GX (our third Lexus SUV) and our new Sienna is SO much like our Lexus in its quality, features and feel. We have five kids with LOTS of stuff so having all the extra room throughout this van is a dream. The sound system (JBL) is honestly the best of any car weve owned! (Lexus, Saab, Audi, Infiniti, Jeep, Chrysler) And although the MDX Navigation System was wonderful, the Navigation system in the Sienna is fast becoming my favorite as well.

  • Impressed - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Coming from a Dodge Grand Caravan the total package is so far ahead that it is amazing. The acceleration, handling, fuel economy and comfort put it ahead of it competitiors. The only thing lacking is some sort of second row in floor storage (handy for storing the kids stuff). With less than 1,000 miles on it we are getting 20-22 mpg in town (in cold Wisconsin Weather) and on our first roadtrip we got 25-26mpg while doing 75-80mph (vast improvements over our dodge). The only complaint is a rattle of some sort just started right above the driver side sliding door.
