This Year's Model Updates:

The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

  • Not Toyota Quality - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Bought the Sienna after my Caravan died 4 years ago. I hate to say that this Sienna has been worse maintenance- wise than my Caravan. Im on my third set of brakes, my power door locks have all been replaced and my A/C compressor went out twice. Every time I take it in to have the power door locks fixed they look get this look on their faces like its the first time theyve ever seen the problem although a friend of mine who works at a Toyota dealership told me its been a fleet wide problem for years to include the same 4 Lexus door locks Ive had replaced. Now my left CV joint is clanking. The staff at the dealership acts like they work at Rolls Royce or something. Frustrating.

Excellent dash and options layout, easy to drive, many safety oriented items with thoughtful availability. fuel efficient for size and weight. DLC and backup camera are well received. Navigation system is great for travelers. Power third row seats are excellent choice for older drivers or for physically smaller individuals.

So far, so good, great for road trips or everyday use, its my wifes but I drive it on weekends, its better than the truck for family outings. Drives like a sedan or better, lots of room, it can be configured to accommodate any combination of passengers and load. Add adequate power and a sleek design, and you got the full package.

Not one problem except the crappy Dunlop tires it came with.

Excellent vehicle overall and would highly recommend except for the battery. Ive lost track how many times weve had to jump start it for the most minor or unknown reasons; e.g. just using the cd player for an hour while waiting in line for a ferry or leaving the rear hatch door not completely engaged (easy to do) will result in a no start in just a couple days. Ive never owned a car this sensitive to battery discharge.

Test drove a few vans, the Sienna was not only the cheapest for us in insurance, but the best riding! One review called it "rode like a Lexus" and we couldnt agree more!! Excellent van, great resale value, good safety features (3 rows of side curtain airbags STANDARD!) Make sure you guys buy the one with VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) great safety tool!

  • GREAT MINIVAN!!! - 2006 Toyota Sienna

This is a great minivan. Its my first minivan switching from sedan. Its a very good size vehicle. I had compared this with Honda Odyssey, and went with this because I liked the interior luxury feel and try out Toyota quality (as heard many good things about it). So far the car is very comforting and quiet when driving around town. It has a lot of gadgets.

  • Love my Toyota - 2006 Toyota Sienna

My friends thought me a bit dowdy when they learned I was purchasing a van. But I love my Sienna! The handling is car-like, and the AWD performance is better than with my Infinity SUV 4WD, all with Toyota dependability! I wish their were a bit more legroom in the drivers seat, otherwise I have no complaints.

  • Excellent Mini-van - 2006 Toyota Sienna

First thing I should say, it has an EXCELLENT turning radius. I used to drive my small scion xA but observed no difference in handling Sienna while turning. Next thing I should say,it has an EXCELLENT tight steering control. I love it, really LOVE it. It gives confidence to the drivers while driving a mini-van like this. Quiet engine. Nice roomy interior with sufficient compartments. Good rear view when you look over your shoulder while crossing the lanes. Good value if you want to settle with a single car for a long time. I was (am) worrying about its tire as few people in this forum is complaining. I yet to see for it. I yet to see its fuel efficiency (I believe it may not be worse).

You dont get much better than the Sienna. I have about 20000 miles on it now and its as tight as the day I bought it. I can get 26 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg pulling my popup camper.
