This Year's Model Updates:

The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

  • The Best Mini Van in the Market - 2006 Toyota Sienna

No other Van in the market can beat the performance and the features this van has got. More comfort and standard items than a Honda. Great van for a family. Kids use their Xbox and wireless headphones gives real peace for us.

  • This is my wifes car - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

This is the first new car I have ever purchased, so compared to everything I have ever owned in the past, this is a dream. It has nice styling, LOTS of interior room, second row windows that roll down, LOTS of cupholders, and the "front and center" middle seat in the second row. Handling is superb, but the engine seems underpowered at times. Gas mileage is within the EPA estimates. Drivers seat is comfortable, even without the power controls. It seems that Toyota is very concerned with having the best minivan around, and they have gone out of their way to add little details that will appeal to the type of people to will drive their vehicles.

  • Build Quality questionable - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Decent vehicle as far as Minivans are concerned. But build quality is in question. Minor rattles (Dealer said it was normal). My sliding door motor crapped out after 6 months. Then when it was replaced I can hear it straining to close now. In 2008 I drove my cousins Odyssey for a month and was very very impressed with it. It looked better inside, seemed to have functionality that suited my needs and definitely handled better. My husband actually enjoyed driving a van (he didnt like driving the Sienna) Ill be switching over to the Odyssey if I ever buy a Van again. I wont be buying any more Toyota due to the accelerator issue fiasco. Im afraid the same issue will hit Siennas.

  • Great Vehicle, Good Price, Poor Stereo - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I purchased my 2006 Sienna six months ago and Im very impressed with the vehicle. It has a very nice interior with and 8 full size seats. The only minivan with three full size seats in the second row. The center second row adjustable seat is great for infants in car seats. The trunk can adequately handle the luggage for eight passengers. The engine is powerful and smooth. The stereo system sounds very basic and inadequate for such and excellent vehicle. The ride is quite and smooth.

  • Utterly disappointed - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Bought the van as a replacement to the 04 Nissan Quest. The engine whines if gas pedal pressed even slightly. The engine loses power if the foot is taken off the pedal and takes a few seconds to shift down e.g. while making a corner. Interior material is acceptable but stereo needs work. Handling is adequate and interior is roomy. Fuel economy is 18.9 miles to gallon in the 1500 mixed highway/city miles driven so far. Overall very disappointing because of lack of any sort of excitement while driving it due to passive powertrain and bland exterior. Would not recommend this van to anyone due to above.

  • Perfect Mommy Van - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I just have to say that I love my car, its so perfect for a mommy, I think it must have been designed by a mommy, it has EVERYTHING you need to make your drive easy and fun. I tried all the vans but nothing even compared to the Sienna, I love everything about it, the inside is like an airplane, its big and has so many little compartment and drink holders, mine has a DVD and 3 car seats and still lots of room for 3 adult passengers, I just love my car, it was a perfect car for me. I never thought I would be one of those "moms" who drove a mini-van, but here I am, driving one and feeling very proud of it.

  • Love my new Sienna XLE - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I have only had my new Sienna XLE for a week but so far I love it. I had a large SUV before getting this and I was worried about making the move to the "Minivan" but I am so glad I did. The 3 zone climate control is great. Having the dual power sliding doors makes getting the kids in and out much easier. Plus it gets a lot better gas mileage than my SUV was getting!

  • Does it all... - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We were looking to replace the 1996 MT Car of the Year which was the Dodge Grand Caravan. After having that vehicle, we didnt think we could do without a van. Our 2006 Sienna LE AWD does everything our old van did, plus its got AWD traction, and better ground clearance (6.9"). Exterior dimensions are near identical to our old van. Power is similar, but brakes are far superior. Seating versatility is very good, but both vans have their pluses in this regard. The Sienna seemed quieter and a better ride than the Odyssey. Storage and versatility are strong points for this vehicle. Storage is everywhere....even the arm rests! My only concern so far is the run flat tires with no spare.

  • Good Job Toyota - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

First of all let me start by saying that the Sienna and the Odyssey are the best minivans on the market today. They both are the most stylish and have the best quality. I looked at both minivans and what swayed me to choose the Sienna was the price. I just found that I could get the same quality, or better, in the Sienna and not pay as much. I do think that the Odyssey is a better looking minivan but the Sienna isnt far behind. I love the Siennas interior features. Its very comfortable for everyone (average for those sitting in the third row). Nontheless, if you purchased the Sienna or the Odyssey you didnt go wrong!

  • Sienna - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Weve driven the Sienna throughout the U.S. and have nothing but praise for this minivan. The gas mileage has been great, averaging approx. 550 miles per tank and the van is very comfortable compared to other vans Ive been in. I am happy with the Sienna.
