This Year's Model Updates:

The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

If reliability and quiet, smooth ride are important to you this is your van! This is a quality ride. Consumer reports uses term Lexus-quality to describe the van and I would agree.

Totaled my other 2006 Sienna, bought new in 2006. EXCELLENT SAFETY FEATURES! Air bag deployed, seatbelts locked & minus bruises from belts, all are totally fine! Bought current Sienna cause we loved this van sooo much! I do agree with others about paint scratching easily & it sometimes seems to shift awkwardly. It came with reg tires (not run-flats for AWD) & a spare; good financial decision. Dont know why those with XLE models are complaining; I have less features & love it! It saved my life & my twin sons. Love my baby!

  • Most comfortable minivan - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I purchased this van just 2 weeks ago. I took on the first trip to Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas, and almost 2000 miles on it. 6 people and some of the luggage. The handling was so smooth, there was virtually no noise as I speed up to 90mph to check this van out. The stereo sound is great. I had owned a van and SUV before but nothing compare to this van, I love the interior it is nicer than 2005 model. If you want Lexus-like luxury in your family hauler, the Sienna has your number. With tons of innovative features and even more available options.

  • Expensive to own - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I bought my 06 Sienna new and have had many electronic issues. Radio went out within the first week, followed by airbag sensors. The brakes had to be replaced at 30k. I have 93k and have had the tires replaced three times. This van is a great driving vehicle but it is simply too expensive to maintain. Now my AC has gone out for a 2nd time. It was a $1200 bill the first time and I am praying it will be covered for this repair. I will never own another Toyota and my Sienna will be gone soon. Going American all the way from now on.

Overall I have been pretty satisfied with our new Sienna. The ride is fairly smooth and the engine seems more than adequate. If I can trust the onboard computer, the gas mileage has been what I expected. We were actually averaging above the stated MPG on the sticker on a recent trip to the NC Outer Banks. For those who complain that the Sienna leans more in the curves than a similar Honda... well, one shouldnt expect a vehicle of this size to handle like a sedan. After all, its a van!

  • Cant go wrong - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Honda or Toyota? Up to you. But with AWD in the Pacific NW, we couldnt go wrong. Plus, the fully loaded Sienna is closer to a Lexus than the Odyssey is to an Acura. 100% satisfied. So much more refined than 2003 4Runner Ltd.

  • Mini -Van for the Wife - 2006 Toyota Sienna

My wife had a Grand Caravan that we traded for a Tahoe. My wife has wanted another mini-van ever since. We chose the Toyota based on reputation for reliability, safety, and the fact that it has more leg and headroom for me at 64" than Honda or Nissan. The 3.3L Toyota engine blows away the 3.8L Dodge engine, and handling is very car like. So far we have about 1000 miles on it, and fuel economy is a reasonable 23mpg on the highway. I never thought Id by a Toyota, but Im happy with it. My next new truck might very well be a Toyota.

  • Bilking the Name Brand - 2006 Toyota Sienna

It is bothersome to pay such a steep price for the value you get in return. The days of Toyota are numbered if it does not add value to its products as it will not be able to ride on its name for ever. The quality of interior cloth is similar to what they had put in 97 Camry CE. Shabby fixed antenna on a 28K vehicle! Turn signals are not safety friendly as they are hard to read in snow and rain. Ride is noisy to say the least and Toyota lacks dealer commitment who just want to push it as a cheap commodity

  • Love My Sienna - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I am writing this review in March of 2014. Ive owned my Sienna since it was new. I now have over 250,000 miles on my van. It has given me little problem over the years. I purchase 90,000 mile/warranty Michelin tires, and they usually wear unevenly and need replacing before they hit 50,000. This is with regular alignments & tire rotations done at the same time I have the oil changed at 5,000 miles. Other than this, the van has given me little problem. Ive been very happy with my van
