This Year's Model Updates:

The Sienna has been completely redesigned for 2004. Roomier and more powerful than before, Toyota's minivan entry now has the all-important fold-flat third-row seat, as well as a choice of seven- or eight-passenger seating (on lower level trims) and available all-wheel drive.

Pros:
  • Reliable Camry genes, refined V6, fold-flat 60/40 third-row seat, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:

awesome ride and comfort, skip the fold down table, creates a lot of rattle noise , opt for full console, awd is terrific in the past 3 snow storms! do not forget to ask about gas tank recall, we are very pleased with this vehicle overall

I researched long and hard to choose a mini-van. The Sienna was at the top of my list and I am not disappointed with it. It is very smooth, the quality of workmanship is great, the gas mileage is good (22-26 mpg), and this car is very roomy inside. The rear seats stow away easily; when 2nd row is removed the interior is cavernous.

I have a hesitation when excellarating from a standing position, also has a popping sound when steering wheel is turned, which is felt in the steering wheel. I have not had it back to dealer yet to be looked at. It dont seem to have the quality built in, as my 98 sienna

Have had this close to 5 years and have only changed oil, tires, and brakes at 100,000. I will admit that the OE tires gave way at 40,000 but have had good luck since (60k on the replacements). We dont baby ours--kid hauler, client hauler, material hauler (Im in construction so this has seen its share of tools and lumber). Only complaint is getting used to the blind spot in the mirrors, but that could be driver error. 23 mpg with suburban/highway, you have to remember to keep your foot out of it to get good gas mileage. This, with my other Toyotas (Truck, Camry) keeps me a raving fan.

  • Mr. Mom Got a NEW Ride.................. - 2004 Toyota Sienna

20 years ago, I used to stand around with "the guys" talking about BMWs, Zs, Vettes, and today, its MINIVANs! Whats wrong with this picture? NOTHING, if Im in my new Sienna!!! At the "high end" you cant go wrong with either this, Odyssey, Quest, or MPV; they all have MORE pluses than minuses, but Im happy with our choice. Good ride and performance, great safety features, and a decent price matched w/Toyota reliability, what more can a "soccer dad" ask for!

  • Good van - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Have had my LE FWD for two and a half years now. The only problems have been a faulty L/S front power window motor, replaced under warranty, and the moulding on the L/S of the second row seat keeps popping off. Looks like there is a screw or pin missing that holds the molding to the seat.

  • A good minivan, but not perfect - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Weve had the LE-7, #7 for two months. The van is comfortable, large, handles well with a smooth quiet ride, and gets great gas mileage. The split folding rear seats together with the well beneath them (for loose items) are useful. The daytime running lights did not initally work, a shoulder belt retraction mechanism had to be replaced on one of the middle seats, and the gas gauge reads high so that we have almost run out of gas (half gallon left)when there is apparently an eight tank left. The gas warning light did not come on. The lower rear quarter panels are cheap and made out of flexible plastic. Even Toyota has first year production problems.

VERY COMFORTABLE AND LOTS OF FEATURES IN IT. But not great power.

  • Disapointed - 2004 Toyota Sienna

My 2004 does not ride as smooth as my 2001 Town & Country, is is much noiser inside and not as good fuel milage. It also lacks many of the luxury features such as Pasenger power seat and memory seat. When using Cruise it seems to always downshift on slight grades which I believe accounts for the milage problem

Great design interior. Has become the family fav with the DVD player and great sound system. Van has been to the shop 3 times for DVD problems took a month to fix. 3 times for Check engine light for a bad spark plug and replaced fuel injectors. Still has to go back because problem was not fixed. Have had fun in the rentals though. And in shop for a recalled fuel tank.
