This Year's Model Updates:

The Sequoia is virtually unchanged for 2002. SR5 models have two additional stand-alone options this year: keyless remote and front foglamps.

Pros:
  • Ultra-refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, impeccable build quality.
Cons:
  • Non-descript styling, comparably low towing capacity.

We bought the first one in Montana the day it came in and we love it! Excellent off-road capabilities and very good stylin. Good comfort and surprizingly good gas mileage. So far the seqouia has met all of our needs to were we are going. The seqouia is awesome!

  • Hood Protector, Tires - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

I have a hood protector (factory installed)that deflects every piece of debris from the road into my windshield. It looks as if someone took shots at my car...about 20 cracks. The dunlop tires put on the 2002 models were junk that had no treadwear. Replaced them after 22,000 miles. 2001 model had michelin ltx, which are great. Oil gauge went bad, and fuel latch was on service bulletin. Could not put gas in my car, until it was fixed. All else is well.

  • Toyota is NOT TOPS with me - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

This vehicle has been in the shop 6X in its 4 month life. I have had the rotors replaced, 2 tires replaced (for wearing) and the noise in this vehicle in incredible. I also only get 13.1 on the fuel guage no matter what) I am SOOO disappointed in this one. I am selling it in the AJC (for what I paid for it) and expect to get it (since it is a Toyota!!) I am the cheapest one listed in the paper. Which says alot for imports. (I don;t say that feciously, since I couldnt give my 1999 Expedition away

  • Excellent all-around vehicle - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

This is a great alternative to a Tahoe or Expedition. They handle well for a fullsize truck and cornering is flat with slight understeer when pushed too far. The traction control seems to do more harm than good. No way to turn it off either. Almost got it stuck 3 weeks after purchase going places I previously took my 4x4 pickup. Climbing a muddy hill, engine cuts power when tires slip leaving you with no momentum. Even with street tires, it should do better.

  • Toyota quality SUV - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Great reliability and price for a large SUV. We go off road with our SUV both dirt and snow and it handles great and doesnt require servicing after we offroad. Very smooth ride for being a large SUV.

  • Simply better made and thought through - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

We upgraded to Sequoia from a Chrysler T&C. Talk about night and day. Gone are the just-off fit and finish issues. Gone are the why didnt they just put one of those here... disappointments. This is our first non-"american" car, and I feel a but foolish for having clung to inferiority simply out of patriotism.

  • Just one thing missing! - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

I think we all should keep a hush hush about the sequoia, because I am afraid that like all things when more people know about it, they will spoil it. Sshh Dont tell them how good it is, you know "Supply and Demand". Sshh
