This Year's Model Updates:

The Sequoia is virtually unchanged for 2002. SR5 models have two additional stand-alone options this year: keyless remote and front foglamps.

Pros:
  • Ultra-refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, impeccable build quality.
Cons:
  • Non-descript styling, comparably low towing capacity.

Grew tired of the van, upgraded to SUV. Love my Sequoia, nothing like it. Interior like a Cadillac, roomier than a van, drives like a sedan, performs like a truck. One great package.

I love my Sequoia, specially the interior, its roomy inside, the only thing that I notice about my Sequoia it needs more horsepower but after I reach 60 mph it runs so smooth.

  • Waiting for 2003 - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

My 2001 has 37000 miles and Im waiting to buy a new 2003 as soon as they are out. After having my GMC Yukons and Suburbans lose half their value in a year, Im happy to see the current resale values. My only problems are like many others -- handling in the wind and the snow, excessive tire wear and the goofy Traction system. I have had no other complaints, I really enjoy driving this SUV.

My Sequoia is wonderful. I purchased it in April 2006 and it had 36,000 miles on it. I have had to pay only for oil changes. I rotate the tires every other oil change. I now have 83k miles and I have purchased a battery. I will purchase tires this winter for the first time. Gas is expensive. When you drive a V8 gas is expensive. You can not purchase a more reliable SUV. You get what you pay for. It rolls on the freeway like ice. It is smooth. If you like heavy vehicles this is the truck for you. Its very classy and stylish. I have five children and we ride very comfortable. So do all of your research when you are getting ready to purchase a SUV. You will be satisfied with a Sequoia.

This is the best vehicle weve ever owned. The ride, drive and comfort are way beyond what we expected. One of the very best in its class and we looked at every one of them...

Our Sequoia has over 90k miles, and there have been 2 problems: the oxygen sensor went out ($170), back window motor went out (dealer fixed). Phenomenal build quality, super quiet except some wind noise (to be expected with large suv). High quality leather. Large sunroof.

I thought I thoroughly researched this Sequioa...Not !!! My car does not go beyond 96MPH. I complained to the dealership . I called Toyota who stated there was a governor on the car. I find this disgraceful !!! The top speed should be as seen on the speedometer. How can they get away with this. I will file a consumer complaint for material misrepresentation. I hate car manufactures and now this confirms their dishonesty. What else is Toyota hiding?

Ive had mine about a year & have zero complaints. I bought it with 100K miles from a dealer who has sold me a number of Toyotas & I would not buy anything else. It is a used vehicle & friends comment that it looks very well kept. It drives great, visibility is great, never had any problems. gas mileage is not so good, but if you want great gas mileage, buy something else. If you want comfort & a reliable family SUV that protects you, you need to drive it!

Just recently purchased this Toyota and am very impressed. Almost silent in its operation. Handles bumps and bad roads (common in Texas) with aplomb. You need to read the owners manual carefully because there are features and limitations on this vehicle that cannot be covered in dealer delivery speech. This car is built in Indiana. How come the other Big Three cannot build a vehicle of this quality? Gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV but you will get more mileage by using a synthetic oil (like Mobil 1) and a K&N air filter. Improves performance, mileage, and wont harm the vehicle in any way to my knowledge.

I am pretty much satisfied on my Sequoia. No problems yet and hope to keep it that way.
