This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.

Pros:
  • Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.

  • Nothing bothersome or disturbing - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

Had mostly higher end wheels. Always new such as Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Land Rover, Volvo as well as wild exotics and quite a few SUVs and pickup trucks. This is my first experience with Toyota and Im loving it. I feel like it took a while but now I get it. Had to have the 50+ MPG - a political thing to be sure but I am sick of sending my hard earned bucks out of the USA and to big oil companies. I also believe that global warming is real and this car is really low emissions. This is a really well built fun to drive car -and a gadget freaks dream car. Its roomy, very quiet and really has nothing bothersome or disturbing at all. Its unique - in a class by itself.

  • Fuel-efficient, comfortable and fun!! - 2007 Toyota Prius

With Hondas decision to scrap the Insight, this is now the most fuel-efficient car, bar none, in the U.S. Its also well designed, comfortable (Im 61") and, although it might take a bit of time to get used to the very different display and transmission, a blast to drive. Four adults can sit in the car with plenty of leg room, although the roof can be a bit low in the back for taller passengers, and it handles freeway speeds as well as any car Ive ever driven. Note: If you have a lead-foot, are an aggressive driver, or expect sports-car performance, the Prius is not for you. If you enjoy 45-50 mpg overall, and can change some driving habits, I can think of no better vehicle - period.

  • Thoroughly amazed - 2007 Toyota Prius

We did a lot of research before purchasing and our patience was thoroughly rewarded. Trading in a Dodge Durango that got 13.7 miles per gallon will save us almost $13000 in fuel costs alone in the next 5 years based on $3.20/gal. The car has been everything expected and more. We are amazed at not only its mpg (averaging about 49) but its overall comfort and affordability as well. It has numerous qualities including good handling, low noise level, smooth ride (at least compared to our ex-Durango), good rear seat leg room and good performance for a small car. It wont beat a Viper off the line but the 40 to 60 acceleration is amazingly good. Overall, an excellent choice for us.

  • My Second Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

This is my second Prius. My 04 had 97000 miles with the brakes never being replaced! Absolutely no trouble with that vehicle. Thus, the second purchase. Gas mileage - I average 51 mpg all around. My last trip to central Pa. I got 53 mpg on interstate driving - 70-75 mpg - put it on cruise. My first Prius was the same mileage. If people are getting low 40 mpg they need a sports car not a hybrid. The way you drive them will dictate your mileage!! On screen navigation will help you here. This one is better in the snow. I live in NW Pa. and we get a bunch. I love the smart key and the new back-up camera and reliability is superb! Resale value is excellent. I love filling up for less than 25 dollars.

  • Good purchase - 2007 Toyota Prius

I got the Prius touring fully-loaded and it is great. I have been disappointed that I cant average more than 45 mpg, but that is still higher than any other car on the market and maybe the mileage will increase come summertime. The interior is really nice. There is nothing like Toyota quality - they are built to last.

  • More than I expected - 2007 Toyota Prius

I was very upset when my husband informed me that he wanted to buy a Pruis. I really did not like the exterior looks but after I got over the shock. We got one red with package 5. I loved it and wanted to drive it all the time. Plenty of room for me and husband and 2 kids in car seats. So easy to drive and park loved the back-up camera. But I am SAD now. We had our Prius for 1 year and then a girl pulled out in front of me and I hit her and it totaled the car. Disappointed to find out that we will have to be put on a waiting list to get our next Prius. But it will be worth the wait. Our mileage averaged 45 mpg most of the time. I think I will get leather on the next one though.

  • 2007 Toyota Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius

I have owned the 2007 Toyota Prius with package 6, for a week now. It is put quite simply a great experience. Fuel economy is good (avg 41 mpg) even though it is below freezing. The smart key system is an excellent idea, and the Navigation system is a real nice addition. Voice recognition is good with the Nav system. Stability control is also an excellent add-on... it really works. What a great car!!

  • Awesome Car and Fun to Drive - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

This is the best car I have ever owned. In almost two years of ownership have put 46k miles on the car with no issues. Unfortunately, last month my husband was in a car accident that totaled our beloved car. This car is so well designed that with the total loss of the vehicle my husband walked away with only a seatbelt rash. The airbags are amazing and did their job perfectly. The police were surprised he was not hurt. If you are looking for a safe, reliable, fun, high MPG car then this is the one for you. We miss our car are waiting to the 2010 Prius to replace the 2007.

  • One year completed and going strong - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

I bought Prius in May 2007. In one year I have driven about 17,000 miles and thought I should write something to benefit other potential buyers. I am extremely happy with ride, comfort, performance etc, but most of all with fuel efficiency. I have been consistently getting 52-53 mpg for last one year, with air on 7 months out of 12 months. The best mileage I have received so far is 62 MPG, while the worst was 47 MPG (when I drove 90 miles/hour long distance, full load and AC on.) Settled on Prius for its high power engine and electric motor, uniqueness and last but not the least, a Prius is Prius!

  • Fun car, excellent quality! - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

After owning Hondas all of my life, I decided to go with the Prius after driving the Civic Hybrid. I felt the Prius was unique, fun & an excellent automobile. Reading reviews of other satisfied owners reassured me that the vehicle is reliable and the right choice. I highly recommend a Prius!
