This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.

Pros:
  • Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.

  • Buy This Car!!! - 2007 Toyota Prius

I went from a Land Rover Discovery to a 2007 Prius. I never saw myself in a hybrid. The Prius is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is very comfortable and with 50 mpg average you cant beat the savings at the pump. The technology in this car is amazing. If you can get the navigation and rear view camera buy it, it is well worth it. The bluetooth enables you to recieve and make calls from your steering wheel. The keyless entry and ignition puts this car over the top.

  • One Cool Car - 2007 Toyota Prius

I have always been fond of any Honda or Toyota vehicle. I have depended on both manufacturers and theyve never let me down. I love the Prius, everything about it. It is enjoyable to drive and performs well on my 60 mile one way commute to work. The handling and responsiveness is is better than average. Fuel economy is outstanding and the consumption monitor has allowed me to correct my gas guzzling driving habits. The ride is smooth and quiet on the highway. Prius and “Hybrid Synergy Drive” make interesting conversation with friends. I wish I had owned one much sooner. The car is just plain cool.

  • Bad seat but STILL love my Prius! - 2007 Toyota Prius

The poorly designed seat notwithstanding, I have over 35,000 miles on my Prius in the first year. It has been a delight to drive and a pleasure to fill up compared to my diesel pick up! Great acceleration, computerized everything and excellent handling make this car more fun to drive than you might think. Handles curvy roads with ease and has more than enough acceleration to pass in any conditions.

  • I couldnt be happier! - 2007 Toyota Prius

I traded in a 1998 Mercedes Benz ML320 for the 2007 Prius Touring edition in Seaside Pearl blue. (Touring has a bigger spoiler, bigger tires and tuned suspension.) I couldnt be happier! Fun to drive, has more pick up than I expected, very comfortable and reliable and, of course, the legendary gas mileage. All my friends made fun of it before they rode in it. Now they love it. I personally like the way it looks and drives. I had mine equipped with leather seats, navigation system, back up camera, JBL audio and Bluetooth. I love the fact that Im reducing my carbon footprint as they say, especially important here in smoggy southern California. Overall, great car!

  • Love the Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius

We purchased the Prius expecting good gas mileage and got so much more! The car has incredible rear seat leg room and is well thought out. We have had it for a little under a month, and in that time, the worst mileage has been 50.4, tbe best has been 52.5. This is rural/city combination driving.

I have only had my Prius for about 3 months. So far, I have averaged about 51 mpg highway and city combined. Sure beats my old car that got 23 mpg. It seems to get better mpg on just highway driving - about 55 mpg, In just city driving it is more like 45 mpg. Still very good, but not the 60 mpg that Toyota advertises.

  • A Great gas saver - 2007 Toyota Prius

Just after purchase I decided to take a long summer car camping trip from DC through the Rockies (NM to MT), then over to the Sierras and down to LA, then back to DC. 13,000 miles in 7 weeks. Though the Prius isnt optimized for long highway trips, it did very well. 65 mph on cruise yielded 50-52 mpg, 70-75 mph yielded 46- 49 mpg. Hills and mountains hurt mileage. My worst tank was 44 mpg when I had many long steady climbs but the car had more than enough power to climb Slumgullion Pass in Colorado (11,900 feet) without struggling. The steering is a little numb. The car handles okay in curves but isnt agile. Very stable and little affected by wind. Hatchback takes tons of gear easily.

  • Best Car Ever!! - 2007 Toyota Prius

This is a great car. I bought my car in June of 2007 for a job I got that was 90 miles away. I was driving from Germantown, MD to York, PA every day. My avg mileage for the warmer months was 53-55 mpg, and during the colder months I avg 45-47. The car really fits my driving style and is fun to see your gas per mile go up instead of down.

  • We have two 2007 Touring models - 2007 Toyota Prius

After using the initial Prius Touring for one week to replace a small SUV, I bought a second one. Now we have two and like both of them. Very impressive once one gets over the macho feelings of driving an SUV or large sedan (Avalon). High tech features, quiet ride, great mpg, fine stereo, and the leather aftermarket seats installed by the dealer, all combine to make for a superb experience. As seniors (66 & 62) we think these are good travel cars, reliable and efficient. So far--wow!

We purchased the 2007 Prius in Nov of 2006. At first we were getting 48 mpg. It is now July and we have 6500 miles on the car, and we are getting 52.4 mpg. We are retired and on a fixed income, so the fuel economy matters. We traded in a 2006 Ford Freestyle, which was a nice car, however the Prius is quiet, very comfortable, and a well made vehicle. I would buy one again.
