This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.

Pros:
  • Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.
Cons:

  • great for normal people! - 2007 Toyota Prius

I puchased my current prius used with 20k on it, now I have over 100k. I am still getting 46mgs driving everything from in city to 85 on the highway, and not easy through winding roads. For on road use I think there is no real car that can compare. I can fit a 8 surfboard inside or bring it to the snow, the car is really flexible with the seats taking no time at all to fold down and the under floor storage in the back there is a ton of room. I have taken this car for 14 hour car trips, with no compants coming from my wallet or the car! Being 6 tall I fit great into the drivers seat and can even fit in the back...

Love this car, fast learning curve, very easy to park with back up video, plenty of spaces for things, 2 glove compartments, remote compartment, glasses compartment, 4 cup holders, external audio in to radio for cassette tape player or mp3 - love it, love it, love it!

I went from a 98 Chevy S-10 to a 07 Prius and have yet to have a real complaint. Dont care about image or stupid things like 0-60 in under 5 seconds, Im just going from A to B and I like to throw a lot of things in the back like my old truck. I get about 50-51 mpg consistently (my wife is pedal heavy and she still gets 44 mpg at worst); so what if it doesnt hit EPA, no car does, and Im still easily beating most cars at 50mpg. I would totally recommend this car to anyone who can afford it. The most basic Prius comes with many more features than most other cars so dont be tricked into thinking a basic hybrid is way more expensive than a basic Civic, compare it to something similar.

This is my first Toyota, let alone a hybrid. I read everything I could to see if I would even consider it and decided to take the plunge. Am I ever glad I did! The man who went over the cars features explained that speeding up and coasting would be the best way to save fuel. Well see about that, but in the meantime I am having the time of my life in my new "Toy."

I have put about 1400 miles on this car so far and love it more each day. It has a lot more power than I expected for a gas saving vehicle. Plenty of power to pass. Very stable on the road. 44 to 50 mpg with more aggressive driving. More room inside than it looks. Ive also road as a passanger in the back, even with the front seats all the way back there was plenty of room. Handles great on wet pavement and taking corners fast. Very smooth ride and feels like it has control of the road. Plenty of room in the hatch back area with additional underneath, also has a cover to pull over to hide it all from view. Plenty of compartments for cups front and back, sunglasses up front.

I got Package 5. This is actually my wifes car but I drive it about half the time and probably over half the miles. We really like it especially the mileage. We have been getting over 50 MPG lately but as low as 36 in winter with minus 20 temperatures and short trips of 6 miles to work and back. The back bumper cover didnt fit well both sides and glove box had to be replaced twice because of non uniform gap. Also one of my Goodyear tires had to be replaced at my expense. They said we abused the tire which was false. We have had this car a year now and we use it whenever we can and the Camry, which only gets 31, sits in the garage. The 15,000 mile service cost almost $200 which is a rip off

I traded in my 2003 Mercedes Benz ML500 and I have no regrets. I was getting 13 mpg with the Benz and it cost me $60 to fill up using premium fuel. Great ride, good performance and the technology is wonderful. Great gas mileage about 48 mpg.

You dont need to be someone who thinks buying a hybrid is going to save the world to enjoy this car. I love it. People say it is the car of the future. Cars should all be like the Prius. I have driven mine for 3 months. It was still in the below 0 temperatures when I first got it in Feruary. I got about 40 mpg. Now that the temperature is 60-70 degrees, I get about 50 mpg. It is plenty big for my 8 month old, my wife, myself and all the attachments that go along for a long weekend. The trunk is big. My wife loves that it makes me a more conscious driver. Speeding kills mpg, so I slow down.

  • Love the Car - Not the Corporation... - 2007 Toyota Prius

I bought the car new. Really ticked me off when it didnt (and still hasnt) gotten the 65/55mpg that it was rated. I get 44-46 most of the time. Really like the storage in the back under the floor. I like the quiet running what I call "Stealth mode". Some things I dont like are how blazing hot the top of the display gets in the summer, the reflection of the light from the dash display onto the windshield at night, but most of all the bad, bad, bad customer service. The paint just peels off of my front bumper and because the territory rep wont approve fixing it (even tho it was still under warranty) they wont fix it. So now I drive around a car with peeling paint.
