Overview & Reviews
A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.
- Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.

No Worries - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By G. Brooks - April 16 - 12:40 pmThis is a great little car for work and everyday driving. Even with a small 12 gallon gas tank it seems I can go weeks without filling it. Its fun to drive and comes with a great stereo.

Maintenance - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Greg - March 2 - 7:26 pmCar was good for the first 4 years. Dealer will try to talk you into maintenance that you dont need. Better hope your fuel pump doesnt breakdown. It costs $1140 to get a new fuel pump installed. Better hope your headlight doesnt crack. $200 just for the part. That doesnt even include labor. Overall, I would rate it 7 out of 10.

I saw it I bought it, I liked it - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By rrodri2613 - October 29 - 10:00 amI finally donated my 10 year old Camry to charity and decided to buy a more economical car. I was not disappointed, it cost alot less than my last car and rides and looks just AS GOOD. The car is a little plain, so you might have to add a snazzy license frame or a spoiler or sports bra, but I really love it. The only problem is getting my wife to let me drive it.

Get some snow tires... - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Todd - July 4 - 12:53 amI bought this car back in April of last year and posted a review in July. Since then, Ive had my first experience with it in snow and have some advice for those that want to buy one - get. some. snow. tires! The performance tires that come on the car are great on dry asphalt but I couldnt do a thing with the car once a half inch of snow was on the ground. No go; no stop; no turn.

2005-2006 XRS is good to have one - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Andy - May 3 - 3:03 pmI had my 1986 Corolla GTS before and now I have chance to own a XRS. Though Corolla is an entry level of Toyota but still surprises me after many years! After 9 months driving, I am really satisfied with it. As a used car, the price go down a lot to a reasonable amount. However, the cornering still need to be improved by upgrading aftermarket parts. The original tuned suspension is unable to handle this car anymore which I feel too soft. 0-60 mph only 7.2 sec with top speed 130 mph (Lock by limiter) and 28 mpg with mixing freeway and local (I live in SF Bay area) If you plan to buy Scion tC, I would recommend you to have this one instead if you dont mind have a used car.

Excellent Review - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Luann - April 6 - 6:16 amA very fun and gas-efficient easy to maneuver and most attractive car that can also accomodate a family with lots of trunk space and ability to transport when needed larger longer items in the trunk by taking the backseat down! This has become very handy with a small business and a trip to the local home store!!! I have gotten many comments on how attractive this 2005 model is from friends and family!

Disappointed - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Joey C. - February 9 - 10:43 amI bought a Toyota because Id heard good things about them. I can only hope theyre reliability exceeds build quality. At 54,000 or so miles there began a pronounced rattling under the dash. By 56000 or so miles, there were more along with rattling in the rear of the cabin. The car I traded in was a Mitsubishi Eclipse with 310688 miles. The Toyota has more rattles at 56000 miles than the Eclipse with over 310,000. I did contact Toyota about this. By how their response read, they couldnt help because my car wasnt a Certified Pre-Owned. My next vehicle WONT be a Toyota.

Corolla CE 5-speed - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Lucian95 - September 12 - 1:36 pmI bought a 2005 CE model with a manual transmission with 7k on the odometer for $10500 OTD. It works well and it does well what its supposed to do. The original tires are not the most confidence inspiring. Will replace with new Falkens for more secure wet and dry traction. Overall, I like the car, very frugal -38 mpg highway commute with AC on. Original stereo is very decent, brakes are good and the seating position is fine for the size of the car. Im 6 ft tall and Im comfortable, but I will need an occasional visit to a chiropractic - not a car for long journeys.

Great all around car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Mr.D - August 20 - 10:00 amGreat car if your looking for safety, reliability, and comfort. Although edmunds says its a bit overpriced I disagree 100%. The safety, mpg, and overall feel make it well worth your money.
