I realy like this car. It was between this, the civic and the Hyundai Sonata. I chose this one because the inviting interior, the sporty look, and the whole price/package. I am enjoying this after the first week!

Purchased new with 17 miles on Odo. Currently at 74K miles. The main electrical fuse blew once when car new cutting out all electrical. Replaced in no time by dealership. Car has never needed even a single repair since other than oil changes and new tires. Only two things will survive the end of the world. Cockroaches and Corollas. Seats not supportive for O/N driving. Otherwise nothing to complain, everything to applaud. This is what a car should aspire to be.

As far as compact cars go this one was it for us. The steering wheel ought to be telescopic and we get 25-28 mpg in town vs 32. I personally dont like to drive it much unless Im taking it up to red line or @ 100 mph in 3rd gear. Im 511" & 215lb so getting out my wallet is even a hassle... thats to be expected though. Seats are way more comfortable than the Civic, at least for my semi-fat rear-end. We have the leather seats but they need to have heat as an option. Heater ducts need to point at our feet vs behind them. Too much wind & noise inside with rear windows rolled down. It would be nice to turn off the headlights when I wanted. We just wanted the most bang for the buck & reliability.

  • Works for me... - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Toyotas engines win hands down when it comes to miles. No American made economy car can compare. I researched well before I bought, because Im a single woman who hates car problems. I wanted something I could trust.

  • love it but..... - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Test drove 03 civics vs 03 corolla LE. Corolla wins hands down, quieter, smoother, comfortable seats, large trunk and interior, powerful enough for a daily driver and given Toys proven past, should last 200k mi. But... It needs telescoping steering. Either foot pedals too close or steering wheel too far away.

Owned a 97 Geo Prizm before and didnt hesitate to buy a 04 Corolla. Unfortunately I did not test drive it close enough. Major problem with steering wheel too close to dash, and an ackward seat/floor. This has resulted in personal left foot problems (Ive called "Toyota foot"). Also problem with rotten egg smell while ideling at a stop. Need to inform passengers that its the car "not me".

I have the car for only 5 weeks but so far it has been nice to drive. It is quiet and is good on gas. I am getting 30mpg on the hyw. with a heavy right foot and about 26 mpg city/hyw. I have been from N.Y.C. to Montreal and it cruises nicely at 90mph.

  • Oh how I miss my baby. - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I bought my corolla new in 2004. She was totaled a little less than a month ago with 130+ miles on her. I believe I replaced the tires maybe 2 to 3 times in the 7 yrs I had her. The brakes I replaced once in 2006. I never had to put her in the shop for anything other than usual maintenance. I had 1 battery replacement in 2010. I would recommend to anyone...very good car.

First new car. Great for college student, like myself, however, I got ripped off with the price, and the gas mileage is nowhere as good as it claims. Im lucky to get 19 city mpg!

  • Very Nice for the money! - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Just got this car, and it is has been a very pleasant surprise so far! I only wish that cruise and power windows were standard, but otherwise very good quality for the money.
