Overview & Reviews
After a full redesign last year, the Corolla carries over unchanged for 2004.
- Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, illustrious reliability record.
- Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, sedan body style only.

Nice but falls short... - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By null - June 30 - 2:00 amThe most dissappointing thing is gas mileage. I drive in suburb n even tho its winter, i am only getting 25-26. Camry gets better mileage lol. I dont like left foot rest, it sticks up too much forcing me to bend my left leg more then my right. Steering wheel is too far away relative to legs from pedals. Visiblility is poor cuz car sits up high. Expensive for car in this category. Comparably equipped Nissan Sentra would b better deal n can save $3500. The stereo has nice base but no mids. Had to lower bass to -3 to hear anything in mid. Everything about the interor n exterior design is basically a copy off VW (nice). Chrome trims n black stylish look.

Fuel Saver - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By will199104 - March 23 - 1:06 amI have owned my Toyota Corolla for 4 years; I have never had any mechanical problems with it. The Corolla is a very reliable car but I am not impressed with the overall build quality of the car (very flimsy). The car is made from cheap materials, the interior plastic trims scratch very easily, the carpet is cheap and nasty it is impossible to vacuum. In my opinion the Corolla has a good exterior and interior design. Surprisingly it handles vey well is snowy conditions. This is a very fun car to drive. The engine has excellent pick up and gets excellent gas mileage 25/34.

Nice, but not smooth - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By John Deere 999 - January 17 - 10:00 amCar works well. Great on gas. 5-speed is very rough. Also, low end torque is lacking. Rear seating is not ideal for adults as it tends to make people nauseous.

Nice car, but uncomfortable - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By master_pate - December 24 - 3:39 pmThis was originally my wifes car, but as I am now the one who needs to save on gas millage, it is now mine. I do not mind the look of this car at all. The LE actually has a pretty nice interior. The 5-speed manual also allows me to get a little more power than I would expect from a compact as well. Note, I am 5 7". What kills me is that the steering wheel does not telescope. This is important because its position is basically right on the dash, and the pedals are pretty high up, close to the seat. If I move seat closer to the wheel, my legs are cramped. If I move to where my legs are comfortable, my arms are completely outstretched. Worst seat/wheel design Ive ever used.

Money - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Youre Gan - September 5 - 2:00 amGreat car for the price. With the S version, you get a sporty exterior look to go with the classic Corolla qualities -- great gas mileage and dependability. Ive had mine for a couple of months now, and its really a great fit.

3-week impression - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Anton 2 - June 5 - 2:00 amimpressions are all positive. Good quality materials for the interior. Manual shifter takes some breaking in as well: at first, downshifting from 5th to 4th was a bit awkward, but not anymore. Nice handling and great fuel mileage. Overall, a very decent car that is great for everyday use as a car for people who drive a lot or those who would like to buy a car and forget the hassle of owning a gas guzzler. There isnt enough said about how a fuel- efficient car improves ones outlook on gasoline prices. You simply stop to notice them. My car so far is getting 32 mpg in the city. 40 is the norm on the highway.

Happy owner - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Loua - February 10 - 10:00 amBought the car one year ago. Best gas mileage its been around 38.2 MPG. handles very nice, althought the air conditioner quit working alltogether for the whole day while 100 degree temp. Next day and thereafter has been working find. Cant tell why?. The car is solid, but when pushed, I can feel mechanical fatigue. But what do you expect from a $16K car. I have got the S. model. Looks good. I which it had 10 more horses. Highly recommended.
