  • Not the perfect design by far - 2004 Toyota Corolla

My biggest gripe is regarding Toyotas distribution system: using regional distributors is a thing of the past, they only add to the price of the car while actually lower customer satisfaction. Case in point: Southeast Toyota adds on all sorts of ridiculous accessories and equipment while not offering antilock brakes on ONE, you read it right, NOT ONE single Corolla sold in the Southeast, regardless of trim, transmission or color. Same goes for side airbags. My recommendation: check out the Elantra before you buy.

  • Fantastic and Indestructable - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I ordered my LE 5-spd manual (loaded with goodies like leather, roof, etc.), and it has provided 58,000 trouble-free miles. This is the perfect car for someone who needs an A+ commuter car with no trouble. The interior materials are first-rate, and you would be hard pressed to find anything more comfortable or better-appointed at this price. The only issue I had a center console door that failed to close, which was replaced under warranty with no hassle. Fair warning, from a car enthusiast standpoint (like myself), this car is about as exciting to drive as a washing machine. You will want to have a "fun car" in addition to this one. Also, the steering feel is scarily horrific.

  • Im sold on 2004 Toyota Corolla - 2004 Toyota Corolla

What a fun small car to drive to and from work. I own a 1999 Toyota 4Runner and the 2004 Corolla has the same amount of interior room.

  • Worth every Penny - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I bought this new with 13 miles. It now has 54K. In 2 years, it goes to my daughter for college, and I know shell have it for many years after. Other than the typical maintenance, Ive had no unexpected surprises, and thats exactly what I wanted after my last car.

  • 2004 Corolla S - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Another excellent Toyota product. I owned a 2000 corolla and the 2004 adds a bit more sportiness to the equation. It handles better and is a bit more refined than its predecessor. Mileage is still excellent and power from the engine is above average for its class. Overall I am very happy with this car.

  • Great Car - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Overall this car is great for the money spent. The design of the S model, a bit sporty, but still fuel efficient for all practical purposes. I have taken my car cross country three times in the year that I purchased, and it has been a joy. Compact, reliable, great on fuel and the 5-speed is just fun to drive.

  • Great car, poor mileage - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Poor mileage, 26211 m / 981 g = 26.72 mpg. Awkward steering wheel, seat, foot pedal geometry. Steering wheel too far forward when seat adjusted properly for leg length, youd have to sit in one to understand, its more than just seat position. Fun to drive, reliable, great fit and finish. 07/08 government mileage ratings should reflect more realistic MPG. Very comfortable, lots of room, adequate power. Really poor factory Goodyear Integrity tires only lasted 25K, new Michelin Pilot replacements much better in snow, rain, cornering & MPG.

  • The Bullseye - 2004 Toyota Corolla

This is a great car for the beginning family. It accomodates taller individuals well. However, I do find the driving position akward at times. A telescoping steering wheel would solve this problem. If you are looking for a well rounded car with a great reliability recorded stop looking. If your looking for spice and performance go else where.

  • First Corrola after 3 Jettas - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Very solid, tight suspension and handling. Manual transmission is easy to shift but not sloppy. Extended service period is nice. No rattles or noises yet. Around 550 highway miles per tank. Very well built car for the price. Took the 120,000 extended warranty option. My last three cars have been VW Jettas. I think this one will last longer.

  • Solid but Boring - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ive had the car for 4 months now and have driven a little over 10,000 miles. There is a good solid feel to the car and the gas mileage is excellent. However, the car has a few shortcomings - primarily the tippy, over-high feeling on the road, the lack of performance with an automatic, and the lack of front seat leg room. Also, when adjusting the drivers seat to the rearmost position, the steering wheel is far away, necessitating an "arms out" position.
