Totally wonderful SUV that, in Toyota fashion, lacks styling cues. The V-8 is nice for smooth power, but I wouldnt have done that again considering the upfront $$$ and typical 18 MPG ( poor ) fuel rating.

Excellent, reliable, beautiful, head turner! Purchased used at a GREAT price from a REPUTABLE Honda Priority Dealer. VERY HAPPY! I own a 95 truck, 01 van and 04 4Runner. All cars take a beating from me-lived in mountains. Trust me, buy Toyota - is RELIABLE!

  • I LOVE my 4Runner! - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Our 4-Runner is the BEST vehicle we have ever owned. I am so sorry to see the lot full of 2008 runners with a 6 instead of a V-8. The V-8 is why we bought one with AWD. The Gas mileage is NOT significant between the 6 and the 8. We are active so this SUV really suits us. I could NEVER drive a dinky smart car or anything remotely like those... I am used to feeling safe in my runner.

Just Purchased 2004 4Runner and it is my first Toyota and it was by far my best investment. The ride and reliability in a SUV cannot be beat.

  • 04 SR5 4runner - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Just purchased the 05 SR5 4WD with the V8 and absolutely love it. Definitely better since the redesign in 03. Finally offered the 3rd seat option which is a definite plus. However, the 3rd seat eliminated the option for the sunroof(which I still dont understand) and any possibility to upgrade the stereo system! Ive also noticed that w/3rd seat, the middle row seat is definitely not as comfortable but certainly worth the trade-off. V8 is definitely the way to go versus the V6 with only a minimal decrease in gas mileage......Styling is awesome!

  • Good Choice - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Overall, I love this truck. I look for excuses to drive it around town. It feels extremely well-built and confident in even the most severe conditions. I previously owned a Pathfinder that didnt feel nearly this "buttoned-down" in bad weather. The brakes are far superior to those on the Pathfinder as well. Interior space isnt as good as the Pathy but its definitely a sacrifice I am willing to make given all the other features the 4Runner has. Its a great choice if youre in the market for a mid-size SUV.

  • Great SUV - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Bought my v8 4 a year ago and it is the best vehicle we have owned! 129,000 miles and still runs and drives like new! No problems at all and the 4 wheel drive works great in snow! Toyota knows how to build them! Strongly recommend this vehicle!

  • Worth the money! - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

I bought my 4-runner new in May of 2004. After 6 years of ownership I can honestly say "this is the best vehicle I have ever owned." All I have ever done is changed the oil and put tires in it. I have around 87,000 miles, and every day I look forward to driving it to work. Also, the resale value is unbelievable. My next vehicle will be a 2010 4-runner when the new wears off of them and the price goes down a little! This vehicle in my opinion is an investment.

I just bought my Toyota 4runner two days ago. I was in an auto accident and my 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee was totaled. I was a little bummed at first but that went away fast after I bought this vehicle. I was a little worried about buying a vehicle with 86,000 miles used but am I glad I did. This 4runner is smoother and tighter then any vehicle I ever drove even with high miles. I love the ride and the comfort of the 4runner. It feels like you found a SUV thats worth the extra money. I can honestly say unless I have a lot of problems with this SUV, Toyota has made me a life member in just two days. They are head and shoulders above the rest. I believe I will have many more miles left.
